Go to the website of the sound CARD manufacturer and download the driver for the card you have. Just stating an Intel P4 with 40gb & 256 ram doesn't give any usefull information. It's like asking for spark plugs fur an american car with a 6 cylinder engine.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

My laptop has no sound

Hi m_reodica,

1. No Sound is mainly due to the absence of sounddrivers , 2. It's a prerequisite for you to hear sounds onyour notebook or desktop pc that you install sound drivers first. 3. Usually these sound drivers are provided withthe notebook/laptop's driver cd , but many times users misplace it accidentallyas they are note much aware that they would require the driver cd sometime inthe future. 4. The solution for you is to download the sounddriver you need to click on this link http://bit.ly/iAfZmI 5. Make sure that you select the Audio driver todownload , as there are lan drivers and chipset drivers as well on that link. Hope this helps ..:) Your feedback would be appreciated.

Pc No sound after format

How did u save it ? Usually dell provide drivers in EXE format and they are autmatically extracted. I think u saved without extension. You should rename the file and named exactly like that sounddriver.exe and try to open it. If still not working try to open the file with WINRAR, download it from www.rarlab.com

Formatting a laptop's c: drive

That all depends on how much preparation you do before hand and how much experience you have installing operating systems and resolving issues that come up. Things to look out for: -Have all the hardware drivers on a readable CD. The manufacturers original CD is best. -Do a test boot to the install CD just to make sure it works. -Make sure you have a legitimate Windows software key. There should be a Microsoft sticker with the key printed on it. -Keys can only be used to install the operating system three times. If you purchased this new you should be OK, if its used the previous owner may have already reformatted a couple of times so be prepared to spend time on the phone with Microsoft. -Do this somewhere where you have access to a broad band connection so you can download the updates and patches. -Remember to pull your data, shortcuts and passwords off the hard drive before you format. -Make sure you document the software you have currently installed. Make sure you have the installation CD and the license key to reinstall them. -Some manufacturers like to create a special partition for diagnostic utilities. Make sure you don?t delete that unless you know what you?re doing. -Allow for plenty of time, it takes about an hour and a half to two hours for a pro to save data, format, reinstall and update software. If this is your first time it may take you a evening if nothing goes wrong. Bottom line is you don?t want to be doing this if you have any major projects, taxes or anything else coming up soon. Good luck.
