Cord probably has manufacturer defect, i bought a HDMI cord with wires that got pinched, new wire solved it, look into buying a new one and see if that fixes it
Geoff: Only Wireless mice require batteries: If your Mouse is directly attached to the computer with a cord to the USB port, go to the Device Control Manager (open Control Panel on the operating system) look for input devices> Keyboard, Mice and other controlling devices: Right click and look at the PRORTIES to see if the hardware is connected and up-to-date. Update the Drivers if you can. If a delta icon with an exclamation mark appears, this means there is connection problem between the mouse/keyboard. If the USB connection works for other devices you plug into the USB port, then the problem is the mouse and not the computer.
Possible that the cord is faulty or that the phone is not detected due to some errors. Also if the PC is not compatible or is having a corrupt software the USB port might not work.
Try to test this on another PC to confirm. if so you need to reinstall the OS.
means you most likely have a short it's nothing to bad jest go to your local hardware store you will find spare cords make sure you get a cord that can handle the amount of volts
THis is a common problem that i have and the only options are to switch the usb cord into a different USB plug, try on a different computer (which is what i have to do), or get a new one.
