You should be getting a light or lights on set blinking in this case, and the set should have a self check if they blink etc---hold menu and input in at same time for more than five seconds and release both, the blinks on the power light should be a two digit code like three blinks, seven blinks which is 37 Let me know what if any code you find.

If you unplugged the set during this time it will clear the errors so you have to try to turn it on again, let it fail and do the check again.

The TV set goes on for a few seconds and then it switches off. No light indicator will fron there on blink. There seems to be no response. Is it possible to have a faulty lamp that is causing this problem?

By the way the TV is the Mitsubishi WD 60638 !

Yes a lamp could do it, look to see if you can see the lamp fire up or not and I have one other piece of advice, when all these first came out I encountered what seemed like a odd issue, shutdown with no blink code etc, in our shop when working they are on a cart, I would remove rear cover and roll set outside(we have a loading bay) and with a compressor dust the set out, any dust on the fans etc can also do this, had more than one that when dusted out suddenly worked again perfectly---I would not do inside the house as it may look like a dust storm when you do it, I know its winter in many areas but consider doing it.

SOURCE: mitsubishi DLP overheating

Mitsubishi has problems with the thermal sensor going bad. They extended the warranty for several sets. The sensor is right by the lamp. Call mitsubishi and insist they do something for you. If you keep playing your set, the bulb could also be at risk. I would think your set is covered being a 62" set. Good-luck and be sure to act ASAP.

Did your replace lamp come on the screen or did you lose picture? Just because the LED indicator suggest replace lamp it doesn't mean it needs it. If your pix was dull or loss of brightness then replace it, if not then just reset your lamp timer, check your owners manual for instructions.

SOURCE: Mitsubishi WD-52525 52-inch DLP HDTV ywllow warning lamp light

that means your lamp it is getting to the end of its life.
sometimes even if the lamp still good the TV will send you that message because that timer is closed to 5000 hours

What you can do is open the lamp door, closed again and the tv will ask you if you replaced it the lamp, and just say yes and that sign will go away

or just simple replace the lamp. 915P020010

On my Mitsubishi WD-82840 DLP TV for the first hour of operation I'm seeing green pixelations in the darkest sections of the image displaying on the TV.

May mean the DLP chip is either not getting the proper level of black signal until the controller board has warmed up, or the DLP chip itself is not completely responding to the controller signals. After thoroughly warming up the problem goes away. This is a sign of aging of the parts. Diagnosing and correcting that type of problem is a challenge. Regards.

The timer light is continuosly blinking when i plugging in the tv (mitshubishi wd-5252) and won't reset?

Thats one of the famous capacitor issue most likely. Thats the V26 Chassis DLP and usually that symptom is caused by failed DM and Power Board capacitors. There is a repair kit that will work in alot of cases with that symptom. Its called The V26 Chassis DM / Power repair kit available at the following link with detailed instructions http://tvrepairworld.com/mitsubishi_repair_kits

Lost screws

Well, if it won't turn on, the problem is more than just a screw.. you can get screws at any hardware store, just take one in there and ask them to find one that matches it. As for your TV not working... it may be the power supply.

Four buttons on dash for 4 wd. won't stay on 2 wd and it goes back to 4wd by itself

Sorry, but three possibilities. Most likely the 4wd actuator motor on the transfer case went bad. This is pretty common. They also encounter switch problems, but it sounds like your switch is doing what it's supposed to. One more thing, there is a 4wd control module, usually in the right kick panel. I'm betting on the shift motor though.
