P50h401a no sound

Have no sound from t.v. the picture is fine. tried changing channels and also unplugged power to t.v and let power down. still no sound

About the only simple things are:

If headphone jacks they can cause it.

If speakers in set are switched to OFF>

If there is sound when a DVD is connected to a rear audio/video input the audio out circuit in the set is GOOD and something in the settings etc is wrong.

failing all this the set may have a audio circuit problem---time for a tech or a shop to listen.

SOURCE: change channel, lose picture. power off/on, picture appears

switched HDMI plug from HDMI1 to HDMI2 port and that solved the problem

When this kind of a problem appears it is usually due to a malfunctioning microprocessor IC . The IC cannot be replaced and the board has to be replaced as a whole. Replacement board should run you about 100$. I can find you a replacement if you are interested in fixing it.

Try to unplug set and a box if used from power for several minutes and then power back to see if a reboot will help or not.

Picture problem when changing channels


Are you using a cable box or a satelitte reciever? If so i would suspect them first. If not, unplug the TV for 2 minutes and try again.
