Chances are, there is either a bad gear or a bad position sensor lever. More than likely it will be the lever. Both parts are inside of the deck itself

SOURCE: turn aux on on kenwood kdc-mp205

In order to access the AUX option the stereo needs to be in Standby mode. To do this just hit the SRC or source button until you reach the Standby option. Now hit the menu button and scroll up or down until you reach the AUX on/off option and just turn it on. Hope you find this helpful.

TY TY TY..fixed this right on up. Only suggestion I could make is that a diagram of where the aforementioned buttons are. I did mine at night so the small words were hard to see. I just replaced my battery and cleaned off the cables connectors when this problem occurred. TY so much for this.

Make sure that the source is set to "Standby" when trying to access the menu. It took me about an hour to figure it out and afterward I felt like a ******.

How can i fix it

you need a part cog just replacing one at the moment but remember the position it was in or it wont work when reassembled. cog is only nilon probably threaded. take off top, one screw. take out cd plater two silver screws either side on front. carefull when disconnecting ribbon under neith push up brown clip either side then prise out ribbon. now with great care unscrew two brassy collered screws on black metal cover to right hand side also a black screw on the side. you will have to move the screen in and out when doing this use the white cog to you right on top roll it backwards and forwards.now you will see the mechanisim for the front panel you will see from there whats threaded. probbably the little clear white cog sideways on on the right.
hope this helps.

The home position switch from the angle of the front display is not pushed correctly. the problem is mechanical.
If you glue a little tip of plastic between the actuator and the homeposition switch, your problem is history.
In my case, a tip of a little tiewrap did it.

KDC-X869 Face Flips Halfway, Unit Turns Off

I have worked on many of these radios and there is a lever that contacts switch to determine position of face this lever wears out and switch does not operate properly causing radio to lose its mind. This is usually the cause of this failure unless flip gears have been damged somehow. contact kstahl65@att.net for additional info
