That is your windows authenticity (serial) number.
START > CONTROL PANEL > SYSTEM
Your serial # is in the Registered to: section on the GENERAL tab.

    However that is a 20 character #

The label you are looking for is on the box that came with the software called a product key.

I am trying to return my tower to factory setting. It keeps asking for a25 character number.

Are you sure you're back to factory settings? That 25 character number sounds like the Certificate of Authentication (COA) key for the Operating System. Look on the side and back of your computer for the COA Sticker. It tells you what Operating System you have and it will have a series of 5 letters and numbers (25 to be exact) that is the key to validate and activate your operating system.

Hey, I'm trying to work on a power point for a class but when i open it, it asks me for a 25 character product key and i need help i threw away the box months ago... if so i will be highly appreciated...

An alternative workaround to allow you to work on the Powerpoint presentation in the meantime would be to download a copy of OpenOffice. This is a free suite of "office" applications which are all compatible with their Microsoft equivalents. After you've installed OpenOffice you can open your Powerpoint presentation, edit it and save it and the original file format will be preserved. You can find OpenOffice at:

I need the 25 character product key for microsoft office home and student 2007

Hi..

Microsoft office contains many softwares like MS word, Outlook,Excel,Powerpoint etc
Now, MS Office is a PAID software,,you need to pay for purchasing the software or to purchase it's product key.. i.e. you need to pay for the whole software to use it.
However you can use openoffice software which is FREE alternative to MS office suite. Openoffice has it's own word, excel ,powerpoint files and it FREE TO USE.

Please click on the above link to download openoffice.

Good Luck :)

25 character product key for microsoft office xp edition

Here is my solutions to fix this problem without getting boot leg copies and getting into trouble - Contact Microsoft, let them know that you had a system crash and reinstalled your Office XP suite. They will ask you a few questions like how many computer is this suite installed on and then issue you a new key (FREE of charge). You can find the phone number if you try to register Office, it should ask if you want to do it online or by phone. Follow the instructions and that's it. Good luck with the key and your project.

PRODUCT KEY 25 CHARACTER 2007 HELP

Unfortunately, these are trial versions that come pre-installed with Windows. You do not have the software because the full version was not included in your purchase.
Good news, though. The 2007 Student & Teacher (academic) version, which includes Excel, Powerpoint, and Word, is only $79 at newegg.com and it has free shipping.

Help plz

Most of Microsofts products ask for a 25 character CD/product key on installation or on the first run. If you did not purchase this software then your only options are to purchase a copy, or to pirate a cracked copy. I'll leave that up to your concience to decide what is more appropriate.
