Question about Dell Computers & Internet
I experienced a similar problem with my Sony VGN-FZ 260E and was unable to resolve until I restored Windows Vista. This makes me think it is a driver issue but I am not getting any warnings about the drivers.
It's a commom problem when you update OS's and jump 2 OS's.I have never experenced a noise from the DVD rom from a OS upgrade, but , If you had it upgraded I would take it back to the person that did the upgrade, apparently somthing was done wrong with both the machines. Have you done ALL the Windows Updates? Open Device Manager, DVD/CD rom drives, Open your DVD, Update driver.

a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US.
click here to Talk to a Technician (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

The hard drive is on its way out and at some point its going to need replacing.
If the problem is intermittent and you can still get it to boot into windows i would suggest you back up all your data (pics, docs etc) to an external drive or to CD/DVD before you loose everything.
Good luck and thanks for using FixYa!!

Testimonial: "camara finally worked ,.. tanks... is there any software that would make the capture button work again? ... "
SOURCE: I have a vaio VGN-FZ
As there are several versions of Windows 7, I recommend you go to the Sony eSupport website, where you can download the driver in the camera section.
When selecting your Windows 7 version, do indicate if it is a 32-bit or a 64-bit installation. To get tgis information, on your desktop right-click on My Computer and click on Properties.
Link to Sony eSupport download page is : http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu-list.pl?mdl=VGNFZ4000&SelectOS=28
Hope this helps you.
