Model HO-0250H, heater makes a pair of snapping noises one after the other, perhaps from expansion/contraction. Heater is two months old.

The unit uses oil to create residual heat. The oil can contain small amounts of moisture and when the unit heats that moisture turns to steam, Steam has a great expansion ratio. When the steam condenses back to moisture it can conglomerate into large water droplets instead of being dispersed. This means that when it heats back up the steam expansion is more radical and makes noise. Unless the unit starts leaking oil, it is fine to continue using it.

Brief Motor boat sound transmits thru the house when kitchen, bath,or shower first turned on.How do I trouble shoot the thermal expansion tank Amtrol ST 5.

The easiest way I know of is to remove cap from air valve on top of tank and check pressure with tire gauge. If you get water out of valve then air bladder is bad and tank will need to be replaced. If you don't get water but no pressure then reinflate to 3-5 PSI. Hope this helps. Thanks

Dell e520 running Vista fully updated has no sound

Depending on the audio hardware configuration, you may have a hardware conflict.

If you have an expansion sound card (Usually a Soundblaster card in the slots below the video card) then you need to ensure the integrated audio in BIOS is DISABLED.

If you have no expansion card, then ensure the BIOS Audio device is ENABLED.

If integrated and no device found in Device Manager, turn it off in BIOS, reboot then reenable it and see if it is detected.

If issue still continues, try flashing the BIOS and see if that resolves. If no change, you may end up getting an expansion audio card or resintalling Windows to resolve.
