Is your windows 7 32bits?
What's your processor?

If no success, try to update the BIOS at previous version

SOURCE: ASUS p5vdc-MX motherboard won't boot

The light is probably the power light which is ok, but from past experience it sounds like the board is dead for one reason or other. Is it still under warranty? If it is take it back to where you got it, with the purchase docket if you have it and talk to them about what you have tested and ask for a replacement. If it is out of warranty, try ebay or use www.staticice.com.au to search for the same motherboard if you want to rebuild the system without having to reload windows.

Since Windows 7 is not officially released yet. There are no dedicated hardware drivers for this version of windows. If your hardware is Vista compatible, try to select the vista drivers for your sound card and it should work

To ensure your system works properly, you will need to locate the drivers for your specific hardware. Your motherboard will have its own drivers, in addition to any expansion cards you have installed, such as a graphics card. Your motherboard drivers can be located at ASUS's website:

http://www.asus.com/product.aspx?P_ID=Wv3U3hfa7ZbODqSr&content=download

If you have not installed an expansion graphics card, and are using the one on your motherboard, this should fix the Windows 7 "transition effects." I believe what you are referring to is the Aero theme. If you are using an expansion graphics card, you will need to get the drivers from the appropriate manufacturer (generally NVIDIA or ATI). If the effects still are not working after you install the appropriate drivers for your system, you can right click the desktop, and click Personalize. This should bring you to a screen where you can choose an Aero theme.

Also of final note, the Aero effects are not available under Windows 7 Starter, so make sure you are using Home Premium, Professional, or Ultimate Edition.

Please let me know if you need any additional help with this. Thanks!

At the official site for your motherboard there are no drivers for Windows 7. You can take a look at this link. As far as I can see you use Ati Radeon HD5570 as VGA card. The official drivers for this particular vga for Windows 7 are here so I can't see why you are looking for motherboard's VGA drivers for Windows 7.

In case of a problem or clarification, don't hesitate to post me a reply.

I installed Windows 7 in the Asus M2N-MX series motherboard but could not load audio drivers. Where can I dowload audio driver from?

The drivers for Vista should work just as well for Windows 7. This is true with almost everything about Windows 7; in fact, Windows 7 is actually NT kernel 6.1! (Vista is NT kernel 6.)
1) Go here: http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx 2) Type M2N-MX into the search box on the left. 3) Select M2N-MX from the results. 4) For your OS choose Vista 32-bit if you installed the 32-bit version of Windows 7 or Vista 64-bit if you installed the 64-bit version. 5) Have fun.
Good luck.

P5n-mx will support windows 7

Hi,

The motherboard support Windows Vista 32 and 64 bit operating systems so it will definitely support windows 7.
You will probably find that after you've installed Windows 7 there will be no need to install drivers for it.
All you'll probably need to do is update them via Windows Update.

Regards.

I have installed 2, 2 gig sticks of ram and it only shows up as 2.5 gigs on my system specs.

Hi,

This mainly happens on Windows XP X32 (32 bit) operating systems. if you were to install a 64 bit (x64) version of XP then the real amount of system memory will be shown on the system information page.

With Windows Vista it is shown after you have installed service pack one for the 32 bit versions.

Saying that if you press Ctrl, Alt and Del, start Task Manager and then click on the processes tab, maximize the window and count the number of memory being used then you will see that the computer is utilizing all of the system memory available to the machine even though it's doesn't show it in the system page..

Please post back if you require anymore information.

Regards.

Installs the Realtek audio driver version 5605 for Intel® Desktop Boards.

IMPORTANT: Audio drivers may fail to install in Windows* XP 64-Bit Edition. Symptoms may include error messages, such as "Error in installation" or "Unknown error". Microsoft's Update for Windows XP x64 Edition (KB901105) fixes this issue. After installing this update, the audio drivers for Windows XP 64-Bit Edition will successfully install.
