The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

It sounds like your AP is not set up to be a DHCP server. If you want to use devices with your AP that expect to receive addresses over DHCP, then you either have to enable the DHCP server on your AP, or enable one somewhere else on your network to which your AP provides access.

SOURCE: EOC-3220 connects but no internet access

What are you using for Internet connects? do you have the Access point connected to a Router. or is it connected to the Cable or DSL modem. I will need more information to complete this. If you have a router is is set to give an IP address or do you have a static IP? If it is set to give a Dynamic ip change the access point to recieve ip address from router and same with computer. If your connected directly to the Modem with the access point and you only have one IP address it will be used by the access point and not allow the computer to connect.
for more help please provide your internet (DSL, T1, CABLE) if you have router,  how it provides IP, and how access point is connected to it.

You need to enable the DHCP server on the EOC-2611P. Then it will negotiate an IP address with your PC without you having to set one by hand.

Access point configuration

Access is easy to configure, you just need to understand basic setup you need to do and just have to find the same options on the configuration page of any wireless access point.

Things to setup.
1. Local IP Address ( You will get default 192.168.1.1 according to your device guide, still you can set different (not recommended, if not expert) )

2. Setup WAN IP-This could be dial up connection (PPPOE) or Internet IP Address provided by your internet provider.

3. Setup Wireless access point SSID, this is what you will find when you scan for wireless connection available

4. Setup security settings. You can setup WPA or WAP to protect security. Just need to select and assign key/password which you will be asked while connecting SSID

Follow the link for exact information on how to setup your Access Point

  2. Position the router or access point closer to the product.
  3. On the product, press the setup button , and then select the network option.
  4. Select the wireless setup wizard option. The product searches for the router or access point.
  5. Select the 'enter the new network name'(SSID) option.
  6. Type the service set identifier (SSID) or the name for the wireless network, and then select 'done' . The product searches for the network.
  7. Select the relevant authentication protocol, also called the security mode. Supported protocols include WEP (64 bit and 128 bit) and WPA-PSK (WPA1 or WPA2, AES or TKIP). Networks that do not use an access point or a router, known as ad hoc networks, support WEP encryption only.
  8. If the network uses media access control (MAC) address filtering, make sure that you have the router or access point set to allow the MAC address for the HP product.
  9. Follow the instructions to configure the product for your method of network security:

  10. WPE: Log on to the router or access point from the computer, and then find the wired equivalent policy (WEP) key set within the router or access point. If you specify the WEP by using 10 or 26 hexadecimal characters, make sure that the characters are 0-9 and A-F. Use the on-screen keyboard on the control panel display to type the WEP key on the product.
  11. WPA: Log on to the router or access point from the computer, and then find the Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA) passphrase set within the router or access point. Use the on-screen keyboard on the control panel display to type the correct WPA passphrase.
make sure that the product is connecting to the network, print a network configuration page from the product and find the IP address on the page.
1.On the product control panel, press the Setup button
2.Select Network , select Network Settings , and then select either Print Network Settings or Print Network Configuration Page . The network configuration page prints
3.Make a note of the IP address for the wired or wireless connection. The IP address should resemble the example: http://192.168.1.1

4.If the computer connects to the Internet using a wired connection, the IP address displays in the Wired section.
5.If the computer connects to the Internet using a wireless connection, the IP address displays in the Wireless section

Network key

Hi gamejunky,
in order to get your WPA key on your router you will need to access your internal router configuration.  To do this you will need first your default gateway IP address, that is your IP address of your router.
If you are not sure what it is you will have to check your network settings, and under TCP/IP look for Default Gateway.
Once you have the IP enter it into your web browser address bar and hit enter.  You will then be prompted for a login to your router which should be default unless you set it.  The default is usually "default" or "admin" or "password" or some variation.
After this you should browse to your router security settings section and under WPA enter in a shared key.  Write it down somewhere safe, and you are done!
Hope this helps, and please take the time to vote!

Configuration

The best way to set this access point is to connect your computer directly to the device via Ethernet, disble the wireless adapter temporarily on the computer. Since this is just an access point and not a wireless router, it is not capable of providing your computer with an IP address because it has no DHCP functionality.

The IP address you mentioned is the deafault IP address of the access point, there is a posibility that the default IP has been change.

Do a reset on the access point then assign an IP address manually on your computer(i.e 192.168.1.x x- bein any number from 1 to 254 except 50)

Access the AP using Internet Explorer or Firefox, type http://192.168.1.50 on the address bar it should prompt you for a username and password(check you documentation for the default username and password for the access point)

Software problem

There is usually an IP address you have to type to get access to this hardware. Often you don't need the CD to install this hardware. The IP address is usually 192.168.0.1 for routers. Sometimes they differ. To find out if you go to start then run. When a box appears type in there cmd then press enter on your keyboard. This should bring you to DOS. Black page with white text. If you type into that box ipconfig and then press enter on your keyboard. The IP address you see net to the default gateway is your router address. Writed down those numbers and that box you are in just type the word exit and press enter on your keyboard and that box will disappear.Type that IP address into your address bar by opening up your browser. This will bring you to the hardware page of your router. You can do all the confguring from this page. Sometimes a box with user name and password appears. The username is usually admin and the password is either password, admin or these is no password so you just press enter on your keyboard and then when you're in start configuring. Run the setup wizard first before you do anything else. Then I would go to wireless and password protect your network. I usually password the router as well. This option is in the setup wizard you did earlier. Good luck
