SOURCE: The screen is white u

Hello,

Firstly, connect your laptop to an external monitor and observe if there would be any display. If there is display, then it means, your laptop screen, screen flex or screen inverter is defective, that's why its not display.

If you know about laptop repairs you can dismantle the laptop, remove the screen and screen inverter, use another laptop to test it so that you can know precisely which is bad and make necessary replacement.

But if you cannot do this yourself, then you will be needing the assistance of a repairman to help you test which is faulty between the screen and inverter.

Good luck.

To reset the BIOS read the information from this link.

In case of your laptop the easiest method would be using software from Hiren's Boot CD as it's pretty hard to open it up and reach for the CMOS battery or the jumper.

Can i install 64 bits of window 7 on my Sony VaioPCG-7D2L

Technically Yes, you can.

However, your laptop is quite old now, and may not be suited for 64-bit Windows. You can install and run Windows x64, but it may be slow and unstable.

Why do you need 64-bit?
If you don't plan on running a 64-bit-only application or you have more than 4GB of RAM, chances are you wouldn't need a 64-bit windows installation.

Memory not recognized

A Windows OS that runs on 32bits cannot use more 4GB, in fact it is closer to 3.3 GB. If you want to use more than 4GB you will have to install a Windows version that is 64Bits (Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7).

I am buy ram 2gb bus 800 two pcs that was 4gb bus 800 in the two slot when I rest PC;show 3.xxx Total memory That most be Show 4.xxx . How I do?

Hello,
This motherboard does support 4GB RAM, however, if you are running a 32bit OS, like XP, Vista 32 and Windows 7 32, you may only see 3.5GB as this is a limitation to 32bit. If you are running 64bit Vista or Windows 7 you will see the full 4GB.

Hello. I have Sony Vaio PCG-5426. And I can't reinstall windows on that machine. I have out CD-ROM "II FreeCom" and i try to reinstall with that. In BIOS menu I acces for first boot drive...

you shouldn't need to have to press f9 to boot from cd rom if you have it set in the bios as the first boot device , are you sure the copy of windows on cd that you have is bootable. Try booting from the disc on another laptop or pc and see if you can start it

Another option to try is to boot from a usb drive

instructions on how to do that are here

http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=118576

once you have booted to usb you should be able to access the cd rom

depending on what version of windows you are trying to install you will need to run different programs.

you could also install vista or windows 7 to usb drive and install it from that, it is much quicker than installing from cd/dvd you would need to be able to boot from usb to start with though

how to install vista or windows 7 from usb instructions can be found here

I upgraded my SONY VAIO VGN-C2S/H from vista to windows 7... but its not recognizing memory stick

Go on sony website and dowload the proper drivers for your machine. The old drivers from vista might not work properly in 7. I, personaly, recomand a fresh clean install in the upgrading cases. That means to format the HDD and install everything from zero. Upgrating from an OS to another by installing an update patch is not a big deal. There might remain some dirty registry wich will make the sistem running slowly.

How much RAM should I put on my evga motherboard the Supermicro X8DTN+ Motherboard

This depends on what windows you run and what kinda programs are you going to run. Like if you run lots of games you need more memory and if just doing like internet surfing or writing documents then less. 32 bit operating systems can see up to 4GB of memory and 64 bit Operating systems can see i believe up to 16GB or so. Windows vista and windows 7 need more that xp. For windows vista and 7 it is recommended to have at least 1GB for basic operations so i would recommend at least 2GB. The more the better for the feed back from the computer. More memory more programs you can run at once. Hope this helps.

Installed 4 G of RAM. Installed Windows 7. Only 3 G RAM Usable

Hi,
To recognize more than 3GB of RAM you will need a 64 bit version of the operating system. If you install Windows 7 32 bit (normal for most users) you will only see 3.
You should have both versions of Windows 7 (32bit and 64 bit) on your installation disk. However you will need a 64 bit capable processor to install it. Otherwise 3GB of RAM for a 32 bit operating system is more than enough.
