How to load labels to print on a canon mp495 printer

A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

We have found a solution. The multipurpose tray can only be set for one type of paper at a time, either labels, paper, or envelopes. If you go to print an envelope, it must be set to envelope (obviously). For labels, change the paper type to labels. I'll put a quick list of buttons to push...each slash meaning "press ok"...Press Additional functions/ #1 Common Settings/#10 MP tray/press ok/press ok/#1 Paper size/OK/Com10 (for envelopes) or LTR for a sheet of labels/if LTR is selected, choose option #2 for paper type and click labels. That should fix your problem! Then of course switch it back to envelopes if you need to. A pain, but doable. Another option is loading your labels into the main paper tray, but that's dangerous and tends to cause paper jams (according to Canon, though I haven't had any stick yet). Enjoy your printer (and your $150 cartridges). Any questions, email me Myschoolbus@yahoo.com

I read on another site that you must wait until prompted on the screen to put the tray into position. Opening the inner door and loading the tray before asked to and then pressing OK was the key to fixing the problem on the MP830.
It's the simple things that always get you into trouble, I guess.

Here is the solution.
I am going to describe 4 buttons on your printer. Then, I will tell you what to do with these buttons to resolve this error.
1. Look for the Black & White selection button (large white button w/ black diamond on it).
2. Look for small pink button (bottom left corner of your printer control panel).
3. Look for the OK button (big button in middle).
4. Look for the On/Off button (top left).
OK - here we go. With the printer turned off, do this:
1. Using four fingers, one on each of the four buttons, press them all and hold them down for 10 seconds.
2. Release the On/Off button - but keep holding the other 3.
3. After a few more seconds the printer will turn on. When it does this, you can release the other three buttons.
So, to summarize, you press all 4 buttons for 10 seconds, release the power button and wait for the printer to turn on. After it is on, let go the other 3.
Your error message should go away. If you don't hold the buttons all down simultaneously, the printer could go into Fax mode; just turn it off and try again.
