Question about HP Compaq Evo d530 PC Desktop

+12V DC Line voltage reading from PC burn-in test is low

Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0in 5.4pt 0in 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0in; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:10.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-ansi-language:#0400; mso-fareast-language:#0400; mso-bidi-language:#0400;} I just bought a second hand PC (HP Compaq Evo d530 CMT) and ran Sisoft Sandra to test it. Part of the result is as follows:

“Board Temperature : 42.0°C (Min 42.0°C; Avg 42.0°C; Max 42.0°C)
CPU Temperature : 37.0°C (Min 37.0°C; Avg 37.0°C; Max 37.0°C)
Auxiliary Temperature : 43.0°C (Min 43.0°C; Avg 43.0°C; Max 43.0°C)
CPU DC Line : 1.48V (Min 1.48V; Avg 1.48V; Max 1.48V)
+3.3V DC Line : 3.28V (Min 3.28V; Avg 3.28V; Max 3.28V)
+5V DC Line : 5.16V (Min 5.16V; Avg 5.16V; Max 5.16V)
+12V DC Line : 3.31V (Min 3.31V; Avg 3.31V; Max 3.31V)
CPU Core Power : 69W (Min 69W; Avg 69W; Max 69W)”

Should I be worried about the underlined part of the result? The reading of 3.31V seem to vary significantly from the “reference” value of 12V, unlike the preceding 2 lines concerning the voltage readings on the +3.3V DC Line and +5V DC Line which are close to the “reference” values.

Do I have cause to worry about these readings?

Thank you in advance.

If you really had that drastic of an issue, then the computer would not boot. this is some kind of mis-read.

Hi guys, I have an issue with my old HP Compaq D530 CMT Desktop. The power light blinks 5 times when I power on the pc (Pre video memory error). The Hp site suggests to: 1 Reseat the DIMMs in the memory...

Try the DIMMs in another motherboard.

Download the free 'MEMTEST86+' software, and burn it to a CD-recordable disk.
Put just _one_ DIMM into your computer, and boot from that disk, to run an intensive "memory-test" of that DIMM. If it "passes" (about 30 minutes per 512MB), then repeat with the other DIMM.

What is fabric bios pasword for hp compact d530 CMT

To reset the BIOS read the information from this link.

In case of your laptop the easiest method would be using software from Hiren's Boot CD as it's pretty hard to open it up and reach for the CMOS battery or the jumper.

HP Compaq d530 CMT Desktop Freezes after a while

Is it like that before? If not then probably, a failing component, a short, most likely RAM card (when you happened to check its rated capacity getting low), connection problem.

Also, too much running applications at the same time, hard drive getting almost full, virus. Or borderline hardware specification for installed application.

Check the easiest first. Is this virus? is hard drive getting full? Borderline specification? Add on card contact dirty? Ailing component?

hope it helps

Bios could not be loaded error code

Sure , you need to change the battery in your motherboard. Often it looks like a silver coin. What happens is that your bios setting are reset to default each time you restart PC, before updating bios (that is the solution from hp that you are trying), change the battery.
