Question about Fisher and Paykel GWL11 Top Load Washer

Washer will not fill to appropiate levels

Just had a tech come out yesterday to replace the computer board and drain pump. However, when I tried to do laundry the water would not fill to pre-set levels, and does not wash or spin. What would cause this?

If " Washer will not fill to appropiate levels " this has nothing to do with drain pump and control board is unlikely.

That sounds like a water level switch that is malfunctioning, or a badly connected control board, call back the technician and tell him to double check the job done on control board.

What is F27 error code?

The F27 error code indicates an overflow condition. If the washer is overfilled and continues to fill with water, this would indicate that you have an inlet water fill valve that is stuck open. If you unplug the washer and water continues to fill the tub, then the inlet fill valve assembly will need to be replaced. Make sure that the drain system is properly installed according to the installation instructions. An improperly installed drain system could result if siphoning of drain water back into the washer.
Check to see if the drain pump is working properly to pump out the water. When the F27 occurs, the drain pump will run constantly to pump out the water. The door will remain locked. Shut off the water supply faucets behind the washer. If water is not being pumped out of the washer, you could have a clog in the drain pump or drain hose. The following link of a previous answer provides advanced troubleshooting for a drain problem:
Why won't my HE4t washer drain?
If the washer is not overfilling and the F27 remains even after the washer is drained, then it is likely that you have a failed pressure switch. A failed electronic control board in the washer could also cause this problem. To access the pressure switch, unplug the washer and remove the top panel. Screws at the very back of the top panel secure it to the washer. Remove these screws and pull the top panel slightly back and then up and off of the washer. Sometimes, you can reset a stuck contact in a pressure switch by tapping on it with the handle of a screwdriver. I you cannot reset it, the pressure switch will need to be replaced. If you have the same problem after replacing the pressure switch, you will likely need to replace the control board in the washer.

Our washer will not complete a cycle, F21 appears, what is our solution?

You did not mention whether the washer actually pumps the water out of the washer when you are getting the F21 code. If the washer pumps the water out okay, then the pump and drain system are okay.

Excessive suds can prevent the pump from evacuating the water properly and will sometimes result in an F21. When the suds dissipate, the washer will then be able to pump out the water. Look for this type of condition if necessary.

If the drain pump runs but the washer will not drain the water, see if the washer will gravity drain. Pull the drain hose out of the stand pipe or sink and place it in a shallow pan at floor level. If the washer will gravity drain okay but will not drain when the drain pump is running then you will likely need to replace the drain pump.

If the washer will not gravity drain, then you still have a clog somewhere in the drain system. If you have not pulled the hose between the tub and the pump, then you could have a clog in this area.

If the washer does drain normally, then you could have a failed pressure switch, air pressure hose problem, wiring failure or a failed control board. I provided some technical information below that will help you test the pressure switch. Unplug the washer and remove the top panel to access the pressure switch and the electronic control board. If the tub is empty, you should measure continuity (near zero ohms) between contacts 21 and 22 on the pressure switch using a volt/ohm meter. The LEVEL 1, LEVEL 2 and OVERFLOW contacts should all measure open (infinite resistance). If the contacts on the pressure switch are okay, you can check the resistance through the wires at the electronic control board. If you get the correct resistance through the circuits measured at the control board then the control board will need to be replaced. If the wiring harness is bad, it will need to be replaced.

Water drains out the washer the same time it is trying to fill

Hi- First thing to do is check the drain hose into the wall and make sure there is a bend, 180 degree, loop that is higher than the highest water level in the washer. It is possible that the water is siphoning out. If the drain hose is set-up ok then it sounds like the drain pump is being activated on the fill. Hard to say exactly what is causing this it is most likely either a switch in the timer or the pressure switch are activating the pump at the wrong point in the cycle. You should have a Tech out to look at it.

What does the code nd stands for on the maytag front load washer?

ND No Drain Machine control board monitors water level in washer during and at the end of pump out. If wash level does not reset pressure switch, it will see water left in the washer. 1.Check for pump/drain restriction. 2.Check pump operation.
3.Check pressure switch for open contacts.
4.Check inputs and outputs at machine control board.
5.Replace responsible component.

Check that the drain hose is not below the water level. If it's too low the water has no reason to stay in the machine...If the water is pumping out, you have a technical problem and will probably need a tech...Good luck....Nomess

We are talking about a FAV6800A or FAV9800A machine correct?

You will need the Service Manual for reference. Sears Parts Direct for reference.

If so it sounds like you have a stuck Water Valve or a Pressure Switch malfunction that never signals the Control Board of wash tub water level. And or a possible drain pump/drain line clog. I don't think you have a Drain Line issue because you don't report an ND error code for no drain.

Are you up for troubleshooting to DIY the repair?

If you unplug the washer does water continue to flow which requires you to shut the water valve to the washer? If water doesn’t flow I would next step you through how to check that the Pressure Switch is signaling the Control Board to turn off the 120VAC to the water inlet solenoids on proper water level fill.

Before we go any further let’s hear back from you.

I own a FAV6800A and I'm very familiar with troubleshooting and resolving issues with both it and the LCD version the FAV9800A.........Rich

Wont spin, stops and clothes soaked. did the trouble shooting and still nothing..;..

Here are some reasons why the washer would act up:
Too many clothes in the washer. Sand and sediment in water level tube. Slow drain pipe. Plugged pump. Washer onboard intel will monitor the water level of the tub through the pressure tube on the water level switch and make a determination if the water was pumped out in a set amount of time. If intel does not get a confirmation then the washer will shut down for fear of a flooding condition. To correct this you must open the drain, straighten the hose, unplug the pump, whatever it takes for the pump to empty the water at the pre determined time set for the on board intel board. If all those things are good and still no joy then computer board replacement might be in order.

Roper washer leaks when filling

It's in the drain hose somewhere, during the fill the water gets as deep in the drain hose as it does in the washer, during the wash the pump runs in reverse keeping the water level in the hose low, during the drain the hose is filled again.
Prop the washer up in front on a couple bricks or boards, start putting in water until it starts to leak and take a peak under the machine.

LG WD-8074fhb

Your problem is either in the control board or the water level switch.  The computer can't tell if the water has drained or the control board is stuck in the 8 minute drain cycle.  Recommend pulling the plug and wait 5 minutes to reset the computer.  If the problem persists, it will require an LG experienced tech to see what's going on.
