Canon, HP, printers are good. Just read the reviews before you buy and you will be good!

I think you should go for HP Network printers. They are best.

My brother printer MFC 420cn says it is not compatiable with windows 7

Hello,

The MFC-420CN is part of the BH3 series which brother did not develop drivers or software for compatible with Windows 7.

This does not mean it is not compatible though.
What this means is that you can only use the built in drivers with windows 7.

When you plug is with a USB cable, it should install automatically for printing and scanning.

If you are using a network, you can go through the add a printer in "Devices and printers" but wont be able to scan.

If WIndows does not give you the option to select the MFC-420CN, then you will need to complete a windows update to have the driver.

Thanks,

Pat

The network connecting is at the top left of the ink cartridge carrier.
this is what brother suggested. it should have the space for the cable to be routed.

Brother printer manuel

The manuals can be downloaded free here.

The cartrages can be purchased from just about anywhere... I looked them up at www.tigerdirect.com and they go for about $25 for the black one and $13 for each color. You should be able to just buy the ones you need. Here are the part numbers for the cartridges:

LC41BK
LC41C
LC41M
LC41Y

I have a brother mfc 420cn printer that displays "low ink" messag

Normal 0 Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and reinstall the CD software program that came with the printer. When the software program asks you to connect the printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
Hope this helps. Bud

Red Menace

Try unplugging the printer for about ten to fifteen seconds; then replug.

This may clear the printer's memory about the low magenta. I had a similar thing with yellow, and when I replugged it stopped complaining about the yellow and told me that my cyan was out, and magenta low. I replaced the cyan, and voila! I can print!

Brother printer 420cn

actually the power cord is the only one that comes with the printer. In some cases brother has put an usb-cable into the box. For mfc with network connection there is no usb cable included.

Same problems as others...

the brother printer is not a good brand i also have a brother mfc 3220cn and it gives the same problem, what you have to is unplug the machine and let it stand for about 2 days take out the cartridges and clean the printing with air replace back them and plug in.that should remedy your problem.i urge on you never to buy brother printers.if you buy them get a bottle of phensic along with it.good luck my brother*
