If the light keeps coming back on and temps are rising in the refer section, then you most likely have an evaporator leak. Check to see if you see either a moist spot or ice on the back wall on the left side of the back wall of the refer. If you do, it's definetly a leak. Call a authorized Servicer.

SOURCE: Freezer works Refrigerator will not cool down

The compressor should be OK this time because you caught it in time. But if the condenser fan stops you need to consider replacing the fan. I have had refrigerators do fine until the fan motor warms up and you are away, it stops. Don't think you should use the refrigerator until the fan is fixed. Sea Breeze

SOURCE: The fan is running, but the refrigerator and freezer are not cooling. We cleaned the coils... any other suggestions?

Check the compressor and the relay. Make sure they are working when you turn on freezer and fridge to the max. If the compressor does not start then you need a new relay. If the compressor starts then it is your thermostat that has gone bad and must be replaced. you can find the parts on and order them with instructions on how to remove the bad part and install the new part

SOURCE: Unplugged our refrigerator to move it. now it doesn't cool. Is there a reset button?

If you tipped it on its side you may have caused an air bubble to form in the refrigerant.
Plug it in, leave it empty, set for maximum cooling and do not open the door to check it for several hours.  Put a thermometer inside to check the actual temperature after three or four hours to see if it is getting cool.  Listen for the compressor to come on and whether there are any strange noises.  If you hear gurgling in the coils the refrigerant should be working OK.

Whirpool side by side refrigerator hot door gasket

Good day,
The first step is to clean the coils properly. Remove the back cover, and make sure the cooling fan is running. At this point, unplug the machine and with a wand and a push pull vaccuum blow the dirt out of the coils from back to front.

Yes , it's filthy and ugly, but the only proper way yo clean it.
Make sure the cover in the back is properly reinstalled. (See my tips). At the beginning, the divider will be fairly hot, but should slowly cool after enough running time to get the machine to it's normal temperature.

The refrigerator is not cooling enough.

You will need remove the screws in the back of the freezer section, check to see if the little fan is turning, if not you will have to replace the fan motor, this is what circulates the air and keep the fresh food side cool.

Top freezes but bottum doesnt cool

The fan has quit working or is blocked. The fan is usually located in the back of the freezer, under a cover. this is easily changed if you have access to parts and a few tools, you can probably replace it yourself. Unplug frig while removing fan and the cover, remove the fan attaching screws, unplug the wire, reverse sequence for installation. It is safe to leave the frig plugged in while you get replacement fan. Whirpool makes Kenmore so you may be able to get the fan at Sears parts center.

LG refrigerator not working

Check and clean the condenser. Unplugging the system allows it to cool off. when you plug it back in it will cool until the heat rebuilds if not rejected through the condenser. Make sure the condenser fan comes on when the compressor runs. A faulty fan motor will cause the same type of problem.
