Question about Samsung Propel A767 Cell Phone

1 Answer

Intermittant vibration ringer

My 2 mo. old Samsung Propel has begun vibrating intermittantly when receiving texts. Phone hasn't been dropped or abused, doesn't seem to matter if it's in my pocket or flat on a table, or which profile I use. Melody ringer works, phone call ringers work, just the vibration setting works only sometimes

VIBRATE STAYS ON

Follow the below instructions and you can remove the vibrate state. I have included a link to download the phone's manual as a PDF file.

Sound Settings
Ringer Types
Ringer types help you identify incoming calls and messages.
You can assign ringer types to individual Contacts entries,
types of calls, and types of messages.
Downloaded Ringers can be downloaded right to your
phone.
Preprogrammed Ringers include a variety of standard
ringer types and familiar music.
Vibrating Ringer alerts you to calls or messages without
disturbing others.
Selecting Ringer Types for Voice Calls
Your phone provides a variety of ringer options that allow you
to customize your ring and volume settings. These options
allow you to identify incoming calls by the ring.
To select a ringer type for voice calls:
1. Select Menu > Settings > Sounds > Ringer Type >
Voice Calls.
2. Select With Caller ID or No Caller ID.

Hello,

The problem you are experiencing is that your ringer/speaker is faulty,

The ringer/speaker is what sounds out when your phone is called or you receive a text message

The only solution is to have it changed

Problem solved!!

Hmm try this;
Go to Settings>Sound>Vibrate Type and set one to texting.

OR

Go to sounds > volume > messages > text message > and click on use ringer volume and click the button on the left side of the phone and change it to vibrate.

My rumor 2 wont vibrate when i get a text message, i have went though every sound setting i can find an turned everything to vibrate but it still wont work, any ideas?

Here is what you need to do:
First, make a blank voice recording. It can be 1 second, trust me and do it :)

Second: Go into your menu and go to ringer types for text messages.

Select voice recordings (or reminders) it is the second one on the list.

Select the recording you just made (the blank one).

Make sure you have a vibration selected for the texts.

And there you go! Put the volume on max and have a text sent just to make sure it works and you do not hear anything.

I just did this as a solution for a customer who did not want any noise for the texts, just the vibration. For it to vibrate, it needs to have a ringer selected. Something a tester overlooked, no doubt.

Vibration Intensity?

Most cell phones don't allow you to control the intensity of the vibration... you can only turn it on or off. However, if you get a rubber case for the phone that might help, because it will absorb some of the vibration.
