My dvd/cd-rom is not able to play a dvd or cd of anytype

Restart your PC and go into your BIOS and disable the CD/DVD-R, this way it doesn't detect your CD/DVD-R it when you boot to Windows. Once you're in Windows, do a re-start again and go back into your BIOS and enable the CD/DVD-R.

How to reformat

To reformat a hard drive all you have to do is put in the cd with the operation system that you are going to install on the cd rom and follow the onscreen directions. It will take you to a page that will give you the format option. Make sure that you set your computer to boot of the cd drive instead of the HDD. Just keep in mind that all the data along with whatever windows you have on your system will be permanently lost, so you wanna backup everything that you want to keep.. Please let me know if this was helpful and if itsolved the problem and good luck..

If you lost the CD that came with your computer, you can contact your computer's manufacturer to obtain a new one. If you bought the Windows CD, then you can call microsoft to get another copy.

When i choose somewhere:

Hi there, This issue may occur if you accidentaly replaced the Msvcrt.dll file with a third-party version that does not contain the _resetstkoflw (recovery from stack overflow) function. inorder to resolved this issue please follow step by step procedure below.
  1. Insert your Windows XP CD-ROM into the computer's CD-ROM drive or DVD-ROM drive, and then restart your computer from the CD-ROM.

NOTE: Some computers may require that you modify the basic input/output system (BIOS) settings before you can start the computer from a CD-ROM. For information about how to modify BIOS, see your computer documentation.
  2. At the Welcome to Setup screen, press R to start the Recovery Console.
  3. Press the number key that corresponds to the installation that you want to repair, and then press ENTER.
  4. Type the Administrator password, and then press ENTER.
  5. With the Windows XP CD-ROM still in the CD-ROM drive or DVD-ROM drive, type the following commands, pressing ENTER after each command:
    • cd system32
    • ren msvcrt.dll msvcrt.old
    • CD-ROM_or_DVD-ROM_Drive_Letter:
    • cd \i386
    • expand msvcrt.dl_ BootDriveLetter:\windows\system32
    • exit
NOTE: BootDriveLetter refers to the drive letter of the boot drive. In other words, it refers to the drive where the Windows folder is located, which is probably drive C. CD-ROM_or_DVD-ROM_Drive_Letter refers to the drive letter of the CD-ROM or the drive letter of the DVD-ROM drive. The CD-ROM drive or the DVD-ROM drive are frequently located in drive D.
Hope this resolved the issue. Thanks!

Simply enter the model number (M2NPV-VM) on the box on the top left and it will bring up all the drivers for you, I belive there were 37 total....I would link you directly to it but it does not allow me!

That should get everything on your motherboard working!!

Hi 1. Click Start, click Run, type regedit in the Open box, and then press ENTER. 2. Locate and click the following registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\CDRom 3. To disable automatically running CD-ROMs, change the Autorun value to 0 (zero). To enable automatically running CD-ROMs, change the Autorun value to 1. 4. Restart your computer. NOTE: This method disables automatically running CD-ROMs. If you want to disable automatically running CD-ROMs depending on the CD-ROM that you insert in the CD-ROM drive, you can press and hold down one of the SHIFT key while you insert the CD-ROM. This may help. Good Luck
