This is a portable paddle type snow blower. I got new rubber blades today to repace the old. If they don't work, I will leave the question out there. One reply I received was to replace them. Thank you for asking.

The problem was fixed by replacing the old, shorter rubber paddles. If the longer paddles hit the scrape bar, I'd suggest removing some material from the bar & paddle. Thx

SOURCE: snow thrower won't throw snow

the problem could be the snow is to heavy for the motor to keep up, if thats the case you may need to upgrade to a more powerful model or try not to overload it. take it a little slower so the motor can keep up. but try tightening the belt. with your pointer finger push down on the belt it should have about a half inch give, if it moves more than that its too loose and probably slipping under load

Mtd model 31a140000. Why doesn't throw snow like it was?

Do you rev it up when you use it? they are made to rev up. Are the paddles that throws snow worn? Even if the skid plate is worn but the snow is getting to the paddles it should throw snow. In saying that no snow blower will throw good if you do not have much snow. The more the better it should throw. They won't work well if there is under 3 to 4 inches. and really throw well.

Belt slipping

You have to go in and check to see that you belt is routed the correct way and that it is not stretched or failing. You also need to check the rubber paddles our your particular unit if you have been using for a long time they also can be worn and need to be replaced. Good Luck...

Toro ccr3600

it sounds like it is not running high enough has to run pretty high on the rpm so it can throw it out the chute unless your rubber or steel blades are worn

Snow blower does not throw snow very far

If this is not a new problem but has been plaguing you from the start then you should check the space between the paddles and the tunnel. Sometimes there are considerable spaces between the paddles and the edge of the housing making the blower less than efficient. In this case I recommend a modification that would seal that gap by placing rubber inserts on the paddles tight to the housing so that there is no space. Here is a youtube video from a gentleman who explains this process simply and should be of assistance.

Toro 621e blows a stream of snow out of rear of machine

1 dont tilt the blower forward. the paddles are not supposed to touch the ground. the only thing that should rub the ground is the scraper bar. that bring us to number 2.
2 damage to the scraper bar would cause the same thing.. not likely if the machine is that new.

My toro s620 will not start I replaced the spark plug still nothing won't even say anything

Well, There is nothing like a good repair shop to take care of a problem. I would recommend looking at the diagrams at a site like and consider the carburetor rebuild kit fuel line and the primer. Inspect the parts on the machine and order replacments right at the web site.
Good luck

My Toro 221E, model 38582 is 3 years old. It ran great this morning (blizzard, 14" snow). When I got home from work in the afternoon to continue, it started fine but when I engaged the paddle to...

Hi, will try to help. This sounds like there is ice or debris that is in around the paddle or the auger preventing to turn at full speed. Without the blower running, look all over around the paddle and auger and get out anything that might be in there. I think that is the problem. This has happened to me many times, and have repaired many like that. I hope this helps you out. All the best and good luck.

When you pull down handle, the machine will not ingage and throw snow.

I assume you are not trying to throw snow with a 22" push mower. I would narrow your problem to the following items:

Bad belt driving the auger.

Broken shear pins in the auger unit

Worn out paddles that throw the snow.

All of these items are replaceable.

I recommend consulting a local dealer like to see if any updates are recommended for your machine.

Good luck

I have a Toro S620 snow blower, I push the primer bulb and it starts right up then dies. If I keep pushing the primer bulb continualy it will keep running but the moment I quit it dies.

The carburetor bowl needs to be taken off and most likely the float and needle need replacing. When you prime the carb, this is shooting gas straight to the carb instead of traveling though the jets. This is a very easy task, but I know if you're using a snow blower you need it quick. The kit is about $5 and be sure to take your machines info with you.
