I have the same problem .... but my solution was to take the battery off and apply some presure on the are where that B (from Bluetooth) and that bin .... this solves the problem .... but just for a few minutes or days ..... depending on how much presure you apply. But be careful ..... too much presure and you will get in my situation .... crack the LCD :((

I had that problem for a long time, but found something on google. search for s710 backlight HKLM/ComtrolPanel/Power/Display  and change it to 30 or 60 or something in seconds.
 that worked on mine.

It seems to be some problem with the ribbon wire that connects the LCD lights to the main board, you will need to get the same replaced.

HTC S710 Smartphone not switching on

The battery is flat.
If the battery is very flat sometimes the phone will not start charging or turn on even when a power cable is connected.

This worked for me:
- Remove battery
- Insert power cable/usb cable
- Orange charge light should start flashing
- Re-insert battery
- Leave phone charge for a couple of hours
- Turn on

Lgvx9400 screen turns black

I had the same problem. Went and bought a new battery.
Replaced it and let it charged without turning it off.
4 days now and I have not see the black screen yet.
Before it was happening almost everytime I wanted to use my phone.
At least once a hour I would have to shutdown and pull the battery.

Htc s710

very strange I would try a hard reset,
Backup your data as this will totally reset the phone.

There are two methods to performing a hard reset
  • Select Start > Accessories > Clear Storage. Enter 1234 where prompted and select YES.
  • Power the device off. Press and hold the left and right soft keys. Power the device on while holding these keys. Follow the on-screen prompts to factory reset the device.
If it fixes it maybe you installed some dodgy software, if it doesn't it sounds like a hardware problem
Best of luck
