Instruction manual has all necessary details about hooking receiver with TV and dvd player etc. Since you didn't understand these instructions means you need a Tech Person visit to hook the system properly. check local repair shop for further assistance.

Ok here`s what you have to do first turn off all three applinces you will need 3 (rca) jacks then on your tv should have a yellow colour input jack its like a hole place one end of the jack into the video or yellow hole and the other jack into the video or yellow hole to the back of your dvd .then behind your dvd they are other inputs for audio take the the colours should be red and white one jack will be (L) left the other side will be right (R) place the other two jacks into it .Then behind the amplifer Look for the two red and white inputs place the jackes from dvd into it make sure on the amplifer you place the jacks in the aux input or line in input .then switch on all the applinces and on the amp using the remote or on the front panel press the aux or line in button then play somthing to hear if it works

Hi,
  • If I understand your question correctly you want to watch your DVD on your TV thru your receiver,
  • you need to connect either composite connections "Audio/Video Output " red/white/yellow RCA jacks or "Optic cable output" of your receiver
  • ( pls note that component to composite conversion is not possible on receiver ..use one type connection thru all the way )
  • to "Audio/Video input " red/white/yellow RCA jacks or "Optic Cable input" of your TV
  • than just switch to DVD mode on corresponding your RCA or Optic connection...
There you go..Your DVD sound and video both are on the TV..
  • Hope this helps!

Problem is in the amplifier output stage...there is probably a shorted component...the short could have come from a bad speaker..or the speaker wires getting touched together while it was on...you could return to store if it is new and get a new one...maybe it was a return and accidentally got put back into stock

Hi Michelle,
Does the Foxtel have a slot in the back marked HDMI Out? If so, this is the best possible connection to the Bravia. However you would need to pick up the HDMI cable (like bestbuy) It is a video & sound all in one. Do the 6 cords end in RCA jacks, and are they color coded?

Popping sound at random times out of my AV Reciever/Surround sound system when video is playing.

Clean and tighten all connections. Get a can of spray tuner and contact cleaner from Radio Shack to clean the volume and tone controls if you have access to the body of those controls. Some disassembly required. If this doesn't help, suspect a bad variable resistor in the amplifier circuit.

A common cause are failures in the amplifier output stage, the drivers, and some of the support components. You will have to send the unit out for service.

How do i connect my subwoofer to my sony dvd player to get the great surround sound?

there will be a subwoofer pre out( needs to be amplified) or if it don't have subwoofer pre out you will have to send the audio out to a stereo reciever that has inputs for the optical ( digital audio signal )( to a stereo or surround system that has 5.1 or higher has full surround sound ) and of course L and R audio inputs and the subwoofer pre out , then the subwoofer pre out will have to be amplified by a reciever , subwoofer amp , surround sound , ect
