On my amp the protection light apperas when i hook the rcas up (red and white cables), i changed the leads looked at all the other leads eg power earth etc. do you have any ideas, many thanx wayne

turn down the amps gain and radio volume to lowest.

a. disconnect the RCAs at the source end. (at the head unit)
b. connect only 1 RCA at a time to the amp. ok?/fails?
still fails? u have a short in the RCA wire. toss it.

didnt fail?
a. with radio off, connect RCA to radio while RCAs are connected to amp.
fails? you've got a dead short on radio side.

does not fail? turn on radio...fails? radio is issue. (not very likely though)

my quess is that you've left out a significant observation as the probability of a shorted radio is low and you say you swapped RCAs.

I have a parasound 5250 5 channel amp. Channel one is not working. Is there a fuse?

hi, there is no fuse on amplifier output only power supply, the problem is some parts of electronic that drives into audio output of the amplifier maybe are shorted like transistors, diode or amplifier Ic's. bring it to a nearest service center to check it. or if you have a knowledge in technical yo can used multi tester to check it. Note: unplugged it first before you open the cover to check it. thanks

I can not install the Philips RG6 quad shield compression connectors onto the Philips RG6U cable. There does not appear to be enough of an opening in the connector to allow the dielectric to fit. I need...

First, I did not have a projection tv problem. I had a problem with RG6U cable. I solved the problem by having a cable guy sell me some compression ends. No one from FixYa ever contacted me, so I took matters into my own hands. I'm sure I would have heard back if I subscribed to your service.

Won't use you again!

Problems Overload Protection Being Invoked - Parasound HCA-2003

You may want to get an Ohm meter and check between the outputs of the amp yourself. 0 ohms means a short somewhere.
You should also check to se when you're hooking the speaker wires in that they're not frayed and touching hot to ground or hot to the amp casing. hope that helps!

Right side speakers don't work

if you are using RCAs as inputs to your amp.Swap the R to L @ RCAs to see if its comming in okay from radio. If both RCAs have audio then amp is bad ,If amp has any type of switches , move swithces to see if it comes back .Also if both RCAs inputs have audio .Move the RCAs when connected on amp to see if amp has bad connection in board to RCA jacks..If audio comes back on bad side when jack is moves .Then you have bad solder joints on board..If not then you must have bad outputs on amp..

Amp

if its the factory radio more likely it dont have RCAs ..You will need a 'speaker to line level adaptor" ..This has 3 or 4 wires at one end and RCAs at the other.simply connect a left and right set from behind radio or from rear speakers into left and right sets on adaptor ..then connect your RCA cables side to amplifier using RCA wires.
