Question about Irons
I have a White Brand Steam Generator Iron that is several years old. The water hose is leaking and I get puddles of water on the floor. Where can I get another hose or take it to be repaired? If I can get the hose I can make the repair myself. If no parts available any suggestion to fabricate a repair?
This may happen if the Calc Clean tank has not been emptied after the previous Auto Calc Clean process. Water used to clean the steam generator ends up in this tank that is located next to the water tank used for steam ironing. Always empty the Calc Clean tank when the red Calc Clean tank light flashes after the Auto Calc Clean process
Water may leak from the water tank when you have not attached the water tank properly to the steam generator. Push the water tank onto the steam generator until you hear a click.
question:--------Why do water droplets come out of the soleplate of the iron during ironing?
Condensation in hose
When you start steam ironing and when you continue steam ironing after an interruption, the steam that was still present in the supply hose has cooled down and condensed into water. This causes water droplets to come out of the soleplate. When you start steam ironing or when you continue steam ironing after an interruption, hold the iron over an old cloth and press the steam trigger until steam instead of water comes out of the soleplate. When this happens, the iron is ready for steam ironing.
Steam boost button used
Perhaps you pressed the steam boost button on top of the handle during steam ironing or just after switching on the appliance, while the temperature dial is set to a setting below 3 dots. Only use the steam trigger under the handle for regular steam ironing. When you wish to use the steam boost function, set the temperature dial between 3 dots and MAX and wait a few seconds for the appliance to heat up. This should prevent water droplets from ending up on the garments you are ironing.
Additives or ironing aids cause water leakage during ironing. Do not put any additives or ironing aids in the water tank. Make sure you only put tap water or distilled water in the water tank.
Iron not hot enough
The iron is perhaps not hot enough for steam ironing. Select a temperature of 2 dots for ironing at a low steam setting. For steam ironing at a higher setting, select a temperature setting of 3 dots or higher . If a garment needs to be ironed at a temperature below 2 dots, do not press the steam trigger during ironing.
question:-----------Water leaks out of the soleplate of the iron when I press the steam boost button. What is wrong with the appliance?
You have probably pressed the steam boost button while the iron was set to a temperature below 3 dots. Set the temperature dial between 3 dots and MAX and allow the iron to heat up to this temperature. When the iron has reached the set temperature, you can use the steam boost function.
