Question about HP LaserJet 1020 Printer

Print Queue problem

I have a HP LJ1022n. Every time I print something another line appears in the print queue. It doesn't print but it stops anything else printing so I have to delete it to get the printer to work again. This is a very recent problem but it's making things difficult especially when printing off multiple documents, do you have any suggestions?

I think you should try using following command:
1) Run command prompt
2) Use command "net stop spooler" followed by "net start spooler"

check if the problem persists.

How do I get my HP Photosmart 5520 series to print from the front as opposed to the queue?

Evelyn, I think you're a little confused, the print queue is created when the printer is in standby mode, or you're sending documents to print faster than the printer can deal with them.
Printing from the front, I assume, is from the front tray where the paper is.
When you send something to print, you see a little printer icon appear near the clock (bottom right), double click it and a window opens, click printer and if use printer offline has a tick at te side of it, click on it and it will release the print queue.

HP LaserJet 4100 for all applications in windows 7. When I go to print a document and click on print. The print screen exits, the print job doesn't processes, and the print queue stays empty. Noth

Ideas? Yes. I had this happen on an LJ 1000 while trying to print my tax return. I tried emptying the queue, removing power from the printer, etc, etc. What finally worked was to empty the queue (again), disconnect power from the printer, shut down the computer, plug in the printer again, restart the computer, queue up a print job again, and hit PRINT.
Hope this works for you

I replaced the cartridge of my hp psc 1401, copied the test page that was automatically printed, but now I can't print anything. Copying works OK. I don't get an error message or blinking lights on...

what is the status of print job in the queue? whether it is showing printing or no status in the windows.
if the status is printing you delete all the print jobs and switch off and on .then try print something. if no status is there in the windows then you check whether the printer is off line .try make it online by right click on the printer icon then click on the use printer online.

My printer is on and connected and my computer recognizes it. I selected it when I printed and it says "1 document in queue" but it won't print. How do I fix this?

Delete the document in queue, press Ctrl+Alt+delete at the same time and select 'Task Manager'. If the Print Queue is still appears in 'Applications' select and stop it. Turn off printer and Restart P.C., when P.C. is ready turn on the Printer fingers crossed Print Queue is no longer there. You should be able to carry on printing.
Thumbs up please if this works for you, thanks

First of all whatever jobs u have sent to the queue ... pause it and go to services.msc and stop the print spooler services ... minimize the page and delete the print jobs from the queue.... go back to services.msc.... restart the print spooler services..... if that does not work .... follow the detail link : http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c00843712&cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&product=1138342

I am trying to print from my netbook using an hp printer. i am getting an error message saying that the print queue is full.

Yes, printer won't print if print queue is full. The fact is you are lucky your printer is giving you this message. Most printers, when queue is full, will just remain silent and leave you wandering what in the world has gone wrong.

Solution is to clear the print queue. See, when you send to print and you send another when the previous hasn't printed, they queue up. Now if for any reason the first fails to print, all others will just remain queued up but will not print until you clear the print jobs queued up.

To do, this go to start/control panel/printers. Right click on printer icon and select open. The respective print queue box appears. It should have all of the print jobs listed there in the box. On the menu bar click on printer and select "Cancel all documents." A box appears asking you to confirm if you want to cancel, answer yes. Then try to print again. If it still fails to print restart your PC and try to print again.

HP photosmart C3180 stops printing

Posted by JACOB I understand that you are unable to print and when ever u try to print the jobs stuck in queue... When we right click on the icon if we see a option use printer online this shows that the printer is offline, if we see a option use printer offline in the list then this shows that the printer is online status. To resolve the issue we have to first clear the job in queue. Open the printer folder and then double click on the HP printer icon this will show the jobs in queue just right click on each job in queue and select cancel to clear the job in queue if there are still jobs in queue we have to performe the restart the print spooler steps by keeping the usb cable disconnected so that all the jobs are clear when the spooler is restarted. One the spooler is restarted just reconnect the usb cable and check if there are any jobs in queue. If there are no jobs in queue we can move ahead an set the print directly settings. Steps to set the print directly settings: Right click on the printer icon and select properties then click on the advance tab and under it select the option print directly to printer and click on apply and Ok to save the settings. Once done try to print to check with the issue. If the issue presists you can try to check with the port settings. Right click on the printer icon and select properties and then click on the ports tab and check if the virtual usb001 port is selected if not select it and click on apply and ok to save the settings if you don't see any usb port check if you have dot4 port in the port list select it and save the setting and try to print this should resolve the issue.. Once done try to print and if the issue presists you can try to refresh the usb ports. This will re-detect the usb drivers for printer and you will be able to print after restarting the computer.
