Question about Toshiba 46H84 46" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television
Sound works fine but even if i hook up the hdmi their is a slight picture but other than that just lines
Possible screen controls in the set are up too high---if you turn picture and brightness to zero does the screen get full black?
screens set too high would give diagonal faint trace lines in the picture.
These sets also should get a annual cleaning of the lens and sometimes the mirror inside= if this is the case the picture will usually look darker and dull ----this will not affect lines in picture.
the lens are easy to clean but other actions depend on what your response is to the above information.

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

The only thing I could recommend is to return the board and get the right board. open the set and get the part number on the board itself. You cannot modify a set to work things it was not designed for without reprogramming the microprocessor. Good Luck

SOURCE: Vertical lines across the screen
I now have the same problem. Lines are on the left side of the screen almost have way across the screen, with a thicker line int he middle which is the same length. It started last week and stopped after fiddling with it. Now it comes on fine then about 5 min . in the lines appear. I have had the tv for 1.75 years myself and have had to deal with bulbs popping numerous times (3). Was this the same as yours? Did solutions work? Please do tell.

I have the same issue with mine which started a couple of months ago and has only gotten worse. I've been googling this and found that it could be the convergence module(s), apparently there are 1-3 of them and ALL of them should be replaced. I'm not sure on a cost, but I'm guessing it won't be cheap. I think we are just going to get a new tv, with the prices for LCD's coming down this will probably be a cheaper option. Good Luck :)

Hi,do you hear any strange noises? If you hear clicking or like wanting to turn on it could be the board that powers the lamp it's called the ballast. But if you don't hear any strange noises,tv is around 30000 hrs,1-2yrs it could be time to replace the lamp. The lamp you need is TB25-LMP you can find it here;http://www.discount-merchant.com/Toshiba-TB25-23311083-Lamp-Bulb-Only-p/toshiba_tb25_23311083_lamp.htm?Click=48173 .Have a blessed one!
