If you are referring to the wand from the Ice Show.Here is how we did it.
You need 3 AAA batteries and a flathead screwdriver.
If you flip the wand on to its back, you'll notice what looks like a door. What appears to be the hinge is actually the opening. Stick your flathead gently under the hinge and pop up. The door will then open and you can carefully remove the batteries. I'm stressing carefully because there some very fragile wires barely soldered on and it looked like if we were too rough, we might rip the whole thing apart.

Check batteries compartments. He needs batteries in 3 different places and they only come pre-installed in 1 of those locations. Check his left leg and his back for additional needed batteries. Additionally the remote needs batteries.
