Are you sure you have'nt changed your setting for keyboard
to check this go to control panel keyboard
check in there to see if you have the keyboard set to slow if so then just change the setting

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Laptop screen shows balck & white grids only- no images nx 6110

Hello,

I have had this same problem with a HP DV2000 and the problem is not the contrast light. What it is, is that the laptop thinks that the screen is been shut down that is why the light does not come on. The best way to solve this is to remove your keyboard first.

You can remove the keyboard by removing exactly 7 screws from your laptop back, there are 5 screws located under your battery and other two that are in the location of your RAM'S.

Just open them up and then you will notice that the key board pops out abit then just simply take it up and then just below the keyboard, on the same line where HP brand logo is on your machine there are two small clip types of pind, that you can remove and put back.
There is a clip that is hidden abit under the metal plate, so just try and remove that clip from its place using a needle or any long and thin object.

That will make the laptop not have the problem. But once you remove that the laptop constantly will think that the screen is open even if you close it. then after like a week or two you can put it back and all shall be fine if not then just remove it and keep it out.

You can then set your power options to shut down the screen light every 2 minutes or something like that so as to avoid the backlight being switched on all the time.

Hope this solves your problem.

There is a delay when pressing the keys on my thinkpad T42

you haven't mentioned how other programs behave. i would suggest it is spyware slowing your computer down or one program that is using up to my cpu usage. hitting control-alt-delete will bring up your task manager... at the bottom it shows cpu and memory usage as a percent.... what are the amounts ?

Unable to write a message in the message space when composing a letter or replying to an email. At Web Mail.

If I click on an item above, for instant the particular type I would like, I am able to go ahead and type a message, and it was the same here. I could not get the message to show up until I clicked on the various typing formats. If the cursor does not show up in the space, it is impossibe to bring it in and start typing. So it is not a perfect solution but it gets the work out.

Slow typing on screen

those proposed solutions disabling the pmcservice only works if you have a DELL laptop. The pcmservice is linked to the dell media direct. This service is not installed on other computers. I have no idea why this title says generic problem for all laptops when clearly it isn't.
I have yet to find the solution for the non-Dell computers after 3 hours of work on a HP laptop that is having the issue. Just uninstalled symantec corporate 10.2 to see if that was the issue and it is not. I've killed all startup services, checked registry items, malware scans, etc. and I'm kind of at a loss at the moment.
