You could downgrade your Windows 7 Operating System to either Windows XP or Windows Vista Operating System. The term downgrade became popular during the usage of Windows Vista. At this time the Operating System was downgraded to its lower version i.e to Windows XP. This Operating System is most popular and highly user friendly. If you have the driver disc which came along with your computer. you can install it using that disc.

but if you dont have the disc. you can download it from the website of your computer manufacturer.

example:

your have a HP Computer then go to www.hp.com and select the model no of your computer then download the drivers.

your have a Dell Computer then go to www.dell.com and select the model no of your computer then download the drivers.

for anyother brand of computer you can go to their website.

How do I transition into Windows 7 from XP?

I'm not sure why you would want to but this would require you to uninstall Windows 7 and then format the hard drive and install Windows XP. FYI - Microsoft no longer supports Windows XP as of early April 2014 so you won't get support from them anymore. The internet is still full of help though if you really need to downgrade.

I have a Dell XPS M1710 laptop that was originally Windows XP (maybe Media Center Edition, I'm not sure) and had Windows 7 Ultimate on it. I had to wipe the hard drive and I downgraded to Windows

Hello the driver can be downloaded here:

http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/04/Product/xps-m1710

Or here at nvidia:

http://www.nvidia.com/object/geforce_notebook_winxp_179.48_beta.html

Please check for other drivers missing in the device manager.
Check also for the right driver, because here is 2 different ones.

Try the nvidia page first, this should work for you.

Good luck

Downgrade windows 7 to windows xp on compaq presario cq56

> downgrade to XP

Bad idea. Your CQ56 laptop was "designed for Windows 7". not for XP or Vista.

The only device-drivers on COMPAQ's web-site:

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&product=4326711

are for installing Linux, to replace Windows 7.

If you did install Windows XP, you'll probably have 800x600 video, no sound, no wireless, and no wired-network access. Not good.

So, do *NOT* try to "downgrade".

Can I downgrade E627 from 7 to xp...machine crashes after loading xp install disc.

Yes you can, make sure you switch the BIOS to IDE instead of AHCI.

clay58, you have no clue what you are talking about, Windows 7 is "okay", but XP is not "out of date, defunct"...Win XP is the most used OS in the world. None of my printers or DSLR cameras are supported in 7, only XP. So yes you can downgrade, I have done so.

Sound card for dell inspiron 1750 on Windows XP

Download sisandra free which gives you every detail about whats on your pc including the soundcard name and lots more then go to driverguide.com register free and get your driver. If you downgraded from vista to xp then you need to uninstall the windows "HD uaa bus driver", a long story but easy to do.This removes the driver permenently locked to the soundcard which wont work in xp but if uninstalled allows a normal driver for your card to work so eg:ac97 sound card, download the xp version as you have downgraded and if you go back to vista the operating system will reinstall the HD driver.Simple if you know.

How to downgrade window7 to windows xp

You will need to back up your files and settings on another hard drive or device and do a full installation of Windows xp. Windows 7 does not support upgrading or downgrading to Windows xp at this time.
