SOURCE: I have a computer with no wi-fi connection can I

Certainly; this is a USB adapter, so if you system works with other USB devices (like flash drives), you should be A-OK with a USB wireless adapter. If you have a fairly new version of Windows installed, you probably won't even need to run an installation CD, but you should read the manufacturer's "Quick Start" guide completely and take *their* word over mine :-)

How do I connect my blu-Ray to my wi-fi?

The player does not come standard with a wi-fi adapter. It has Ethernet connectivity and can be attached to the network via a cable. You can purchase a wi-fi adapter for this model from Toshiba - the part number is WLM-12NB1. Here is the link to the website:

Tip

Blu-ray player wi-fi ready vs. wi-fi built-in

Blu-ray players are getting more internet capable and any player made 2010 or later is probably going to have wi-fi or wireless internet connectivity. However not all players are the same. Some Blu-ray players are wi-fi ready while others are wi-fi built-in. What's the difference? Wi-Fi ready players need an extra part called a dongle or adapter stick to make them work with your wireless router and not just any adapter, typically only the one the player's manufacturer offers. Usually this will cost you an extra $80. But Wi-Fi built-in players already have the adapter in them and are ready to go without adding a part. Be sure to check if the player is Wi-Fi built-in, as this is what you want for wireless connectivity.

How to get the internet connected using a wi fi transmitter

Passwords work and you might want to auto detect the the wi-fi. If you are using windows 8 with a windows XP wi-fi adapter it will not work. Get an Updated on, as wifi for windows XP is a 32 bit adapter. You
Need a Windows 7 or better adapter.

I tried to connect player to my wi-fi with the adapter that came with my wi-fi package. Player does not recognize it as being connected. Do I have to have a specific wi-fi adapter?

Hello

You must have a wifi adapter ready LCD tv,if you have got this and the player still does not recognize the adapter then i guess your adapter is faulty and you should have it replaced..

Your player uses WiFi adapter WLM-10UB1. Which is the same one that can be purchased on the TOSHIBA website http://toshibadirect.com . This adapter works in several of the Toshiba models.

The optional Toshiba WLM-10UB1 Wi-Fi adapter retail price is $49.99, mail order around $41. 2.

My pc details-amd semprom 3200+,mmx,3DNOW,1.8GHZ. MY INTERNET SEVICE MODEM IS WI-FI ENABAL,BUT MY PC IS NOT WI-FI. HOW ITS WI-FI CAPABLE NOW

You must purchase a Wi-Fi adapter (possibly a USB Wi-Fi adapter) & follow the the adapter's installation instructions followed by inputting the modem's SSID & passphrase (if there is one). The SSID will probably show up in a list of available networks. Just follow the adapter's instructions. Refer to the modem's instructions for logon information (i.e., SSID, encryption type (if any), passphrase (if any), WPS PIN # (if any), etc.).

I have a compaq presario F756nr with an Atheros wireless wi-fi card in it. Can I replace the wi-fi card with a Broadcom 802.11 b/g wireless LAN card?

no you cannot replace the built-in wi-fi card...
if you try to change the drivers for atheros wi-fi to Broadcam driver, your wi-fi card will not function anymore.... but you can always install another WI-FI card in your laptop... you can buy a USB Adapter or a Cardbus(PCMCIA) adapter for this purpose...if you want your wi-fi signal strenth and range to be higher, you can opt to buy an adapter which comes under N standard....N standard wi-fi adapters are capable of connecting at a speed of more than 300mbps(practically) to any N standard device like router....

Wireless no longer works

1st Solution:
Check if the wi-fi card is properly installed under Device Manager. Go to Start then look for Control Panel on the right pane. Under Control Panel look for System and Maintenance and then click on Device Manager. Now under Device Manager look for Network Adapters and collapse or click the arrow next to it. Check if your wi-fi adapter is installed(10/100 or 10/1000 is your LAN adapter, wi-fi adapters usually indicates something like 802.11x(could be agn or g or b) or the word "wireless". If you don't see anything I mentioned above that means your computer is unable to detect any wi-fi adapters installed. Know if you found a wi-fi adapter but there is a yellow exclamation or question mark, all you have to do is re-install the drivers for your wi-fi adapter(you can download the drivers on the Compaq website for free.)

2nd Solution:
Check if the wi-fi is disabled or stopped, if you have a bulit in wi-fi adapter on your laptop they have a wi-fi switch on the side or near the function keys(F1, F2, F3 up to F12). Wi-fi button/switch will have a logo or marking of an antenna that has waves coming out of it and there is a LED light that will indicate if its on or off(for Comapaq laptops it's either a blue button at the front, near the function keys or at the front panel on the buttom edge.

If both fails then you may need to contact Compaq for further assistance.

Hope this will help you fixin the wi-fi problems on your laptop.

Regards
