Question about Eureka True Clean Upright Vacuum (Yellow) 2961BVZ

Vacuum picks up some dirt and debris but not all, and spits some back out?

I have tried adjusting the height setting and the canister and filters are clean. It picks up most of the stuff on the floor, but not all, and some of it gets spit back out, but when I dump the canister after vacuuming, there is still dirt and debris in the canister, and I vacuum 1-3 times per week.

Some blockage at the pickup or in the hose if it uses one---dirt etc being kicked back out is a clear sign of this----if it has a tube check that first, and if a head with turning brush do not miss looking for a blockage there.

Why is my vacuum spitting out dirt as I vacuum?

Hi, it's Ambrai from Crucial Vacuum.

This usually means that your vacuum isn't suctioning properly. Your brush roll spins and picks up debris, but if it is not suctioned up, the debris will go back on to your carpet.

Poor suction can be caused by a clogged hose or a dirty filter. First, remove the hose from the vacuum. Toss a coin down your hose and if the coin does not come out of the other end, your hose is clogged and you will need to clean it. If it comes out of the other end, your hose is not clogged. To check if your filter needs to be changed, open the dirt bin canister and remove your filter. For optimal performance, it is recommended to change your filter every three to six months.

Hi, i've had my dirt devil for a couple years now and till a month ago its held up well. we have wood floors in our house and only use it on the scatter rugs but last week it stopped picking up debris. i...

Detach the hose at both ends. Drop a coin or marble down one end. If it rolls free, the hose is okay. If not, the hose is clogged. To clear it hold the wrong end of the hose to the tank and turn on. The reverse suction should clear the blockage. If not, try pushing it clear with a broom stick.
Check the power head where the hose attaches. Drop a coin down from the top. If it gets stuck, there's a blockage there. Try to clear it by pushing the handle of a wooden spoon or similar dull item down to push it clear.
Depending on the noise the vacuum is making, it's also possible some dust/debris got into the motor, causing problems.

My vacuum isnt picking up dirt after i just replaced the belt. What do i need to do?

check to see if the hose is clogged or if the filter up top has become disconnected, or if the dirt container is loose or not on there.

also, re-adjust the height adjustment to the proper carpet setting.

good luck

I think my son used my vaccuum on his wet Jeep carpets. Now it stinks and is spitting stuff out instead of picking stuff up. Will it ever work again or did he destroy it?

I think the pump is clogged and the vacuum inlet filter has also been clogged up with excess intake of dirt.
You will need to remove both the sectiosn fully to clean out without using the vacuum cleane as it will further damage the unit.
All these machines have a limitation to the dirt and cannot be expected to go on with high level of dirt. So the maintenance must be carried over for the dirt accumulation fo the machine to be back to work efficiently.

Dirt Devil bagless upright. sucks up dirt in the front and spits it out in the back. I have taken it apart to check for visible clogs in hoses and checked belt and rollers all of which are fine. what next?

There seems to be no vacuum drawing the debris away from the brush head. Remove the debris canister to check for air blowing into it. Check particularly, the area where the brush head pivots off of the upright portion. Hope this helps!

Vacuum not picking up dirt

The neck in your power head is likely clogged. Disconnect from the wand and look inside. Also check the wand.Since you have suction on the bare floor the hose is likely not blocked.

Won't pick up

try removing the 4 screws on the bottom of the vacuum and remove the gray hose from the flexible clear hose on the back of the vacuum near the bottom then take a rag and push it through the hose to the outlet on the bottom it is a straight shot it should clean it out. I did this to solve my problem with no suction on the vacuum and it worked. You would be amazed how much hair and dirt are in there. Then just put everything back together and it should work just fine assuming you cleaned the air tube behind the canister too.
