SOURCE: rennai gas unflued heater kerosene fumes

Have it checked properly - sometimes the reg won't open fully, but the heater will still run, but with improper combustion resulting in a funny smell.

SOURCE: i have a jonh deere

Hi Ivan,
These things can make ya gray in a hurry!!

The only thing I could tell you is that it seems as though the photo cell is not seeing the flame when the cover is down...When you lift the cover it will change the focus of the flame and that allows the photo cell either to see light from the outside or the flame changes enough to allow the cell to see the light...

Try changing the position of the cell and make sure that it has a direct opening to see the flame...

obviously this is not a "parts" issue at this point...it is a matter of getting the parts to do the job they need to do...the cell is a safety and if it does not see the fire it will shut things down...make sure it can see the fire...

How do I bypass the safety switches on a scott 1742 built by john deer

Bypassing the safety switches are not recommended. If you do not know how to replace a safety switch you would probably do more damage to the unit or yourself and for that reason I will not tell you how to bypass the switches. Please replace the safety switches.

Carrier infinity furnace 2010 has stuck inducer pressure switch, Can I manually bypass and heat the house until serviceman arrives tomorrow?

I wouldn't bypass any safeties when its part of the exhaust system of the furnace. That is the first safety that acts in the furnaces sequence of operation. The induced draft will initiate and that pressure switch will close, proving the IDM is working and flue is clear. It's primary purpose is to exhaust any fuel that may linger inside the heat exchanger and then to reject the post combustion process. Carbon monoxide becomes an issue. As far as the Infinity, these units will not start if safeties are bypassed. The unit checks all safeties/circuits for continuity, and if a switch is closed when its not supposed to be, it won't allow.

The clutch safety switch behind peddle seems to need replacement.

of course!...however you do not want to bypass this safety switch! bypassing it will allow a car in gear to start...possibly running over and/or killing someone! get a cheap switch at a salvage yard!

B&D steam xpress 660 faulty switch to replace

I'm not familiar with your particular model , or Irons themselves.
So forgive me if im wrong ,
I think it could be a safety feature , to prevent accidents, so replacing the switch will most likely make no difference.

But if you still find yourself needing to Iron sideways , possibly whilst extreme bungee-jumping or entering the earth's outer atmosphere !! LoL sorry couldn't help myself there , you could try phyically bypassing the switch itself.

There would be two main ways to approach such a task, depending on the cut-out system utilized by the iron.

Electrical diversion

Usually safety cut-out switches will interrupt the power of one polarity only, either positive or negative. especially where water is involved. This is easily bypassed by simply joining the matching 2 wires together either side of the switch to complete the circuit making the safety switch obsolete. There may be other wires for indicator lights ect which are better left alone for now.

Mechanical diversion

The iron may utilize the water or other moving component to interrupt the power supply .Such as a water level indicator in a kettle, which is positioned to activate only when in sideways position. Again you could bypass the wires as above or bind the mechanism to prevent the movement being possible.

If it does use the water method , running the iron with no or low water in it may work...But there's probably a safety feature for that too....LoL

Anyways hope it helps you out a little
