SOURCE: Miele T355 timer doesn't latch

Modern dryers use a step motor on the timer, as opposed to a fixed rate timer seen in older models. The timer advances using one of two different mechanisms, depending on the model. On most, the timer receives a signal from the thermostat that a predetermined temperature has been reached - on others it receives the signal from the moisture sensor (if so equipped).

SOURCE: How do I replace the drum belt on a miele 9820

Hi

To replace the drum belt on a miele dryer you can follow this procedure--

1. Remove the front panel.
2. Slide a putty knife between the front panel and the top near a corner. Lift the corner and repeat on the other side.
3. To remove the lower panel, insert the putty knife between the panel and each side. Then twist to release clip.
4. Reach underneath drum and behind motor to locate idler pulley. Push idler pulley to left to release drum belt tension. Remove the belt from the motor pulley.

5. Loosen the screws that secure the bottom of the front panel to the dryer sides. Do not completely remove the screws.
6. Remove the drum and belt from the cabinet.

Hope this helps... If it does please do not forget to accept the solution or post back for assistance.

Hi Gene, I have an Electrolux FEX831C30 stacked washer and dryer. the drum in the dryer has completely come loose and has dropped to the bottom of the dryer cabinet. there were two screws in the drum. what...

Good Morning Brian,

The reason the drum has fallen free from the rear is a defective rear drum bearing and that drum bearing that has sheared itself off of the bearing support.to repair that dryer ya would need to replace the bearing kit its part number 5303281153 and would be in stock at your local applince parts store or online at searspartsdirect.com, repairclinic.com, apdepot.com, partselect.com, or apwagner.com

Before replacing the drum the drum bearing you should also inspect the heat element since when the bearing shears off its not that uncommon for the drum to fall onto the heater shroud and also break the heat element

While this Youtube video i have included the link to shows how to replace the drum bearing in a full siz e free standing (not stacked laundry center) dryer the process of how to replace the rear drum beaqring is exactly the same and that video should help ya http://www.youtube.com/user/RepairClinic?v=67hOqSFnX8g&feature=pyv&ad=9033434261&kw=drum%20bearing

Good luck,i hope ya find it very simple to replace that bearing,
GENE

The drum is overloaded (too much laundry), or there is a problem with the moisture sensor not registering the moisture content of the laundry correctly.

The belt is most likely broken. The front drum bearing seal may have worn out and caused this to happen. Call Miele. You'll be better off.

Blower fan has fluff on stuck to it. It may even be disstorted. If you are really unlucky then it's done the blower fan motor bearings as well.
