I suspect the lamp cooling fan. Check the fan for debris or damage. If it were the sensor, it would be showing fault mode and not even start up. Hope that helps.

SOURCE: have a Sharp Motevision

Red power light on, is it steady or blinking red light. ---------- If the red light is blinking then its power supply issue. The power supply board of the projector is shorting and this causes red light to blink. There are few components on the power supply board that needs to be checked,The relay, the capacitors and IC.Most probably this blows and this shorts power supply board.----------------- If the red light is not blinking and its steady on then its internal ballast board issue.---------- If the lamp life is over and lamp light is getting red, then lamp has to be replaced.---------- If the temp light is blinking or coming on red, then there is heating issue. The fan has to be cleaned and all the vents on the projector are to be cleaned by brush. This will help, if temp light is coming on.------ ----------------- As per your problem mentioned, its either vent clogged issue or lamp issue. --------- First try cleaning the ventilation nets on the projector. Also try cleaning the fan, if possible place the projector in open room, where there is open space.Connect external table fan to the back of projector and then turn it on and see , if that makes a difference. --------That fan will keep inside the projector cool.------- But if that is not helping then , you need to replace the lamp, to get the lamp replace, click the link below:--- ---------- This will help.Thanks.Helpmech.

The bolb come on then shuts down is there a manuel way to reset the lamp.

To reset the lamp timer you must be able to access the on screen menus. If you can't and the projector shuts down before you can do so then the lamp is unlikely to be the problem, howevere this is how you reset the lamp timer.

Turn the projector on, and press MENU

Press the POINT LEFT/RIGHT buttons until you get to SETTING and then press SELECT

Press the POINT DOWN button and a red arrow icon will appear. Move the arrow to the LAMP AGE and then press SELECT

Select YES to reset the lamp timer.

Hi, I've a sony VPLES1 projector which keeps powering down seconds after it has warmed up and projects. I've put in a new bulb but it continues to shut down? Kind regards Adam

i suspect the device has cooling issues. the shut down is done to prevent physical damage to the machine's delicate electronics. make sure that none of the airvents are covered and try to remove dust using a can of compressed air. if this does not help, you chould contact a local repair centre for maintenance.

If you are connecting to a laptop then you may need to hold the function button down and press F1, F2, F3 etc. there should be a sign with the latop on there and a sign with an external device (monitor,PROJECOR)
hope this information was useful to you.

Is the projector receiving a source signal? if not it will power itself down after whatever time you have it set to do so when no signal is present.

Can't start infocus sp7200 after changing lamp.

The end of lamp timer has reached it's limit and won't let the new lamp strike. What you need to do is Reset the end of life timer. To do this, with the projector switched off press and hold both the up and down Brightness buttons on the projector. while holding them in turn on the projector. Continue holding the buttons in for 10 to 15 seconds This will reset the end of life timer in the projector.

Shut off your projector by swith on the back near the AV inputs, leave it off for about five minutes. Then switch it back on, manually press the power button, let it start for about 5-10 seconds then continue to hold power button until picture appears. It worked for me, good luck to all.
