Question about Computers & Internet

Open Question

I just bought a BenQ S6 MID tablet preloaded with Red Flag linux. How can I get rid of that OS and replace it with something better like Android or other more user friendly Linux?

Red Flag Linux has internet security issues so I can even log into my own email accounts. It asks if I want to create an exception for the website and nothing happens when I choose Create and Exception. I downloaded Ubuntu and made a DVD and hooked the tablet to my desktop via usb port but it just booted on my desktop.

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
New users get to try the service completely Free afterwhich it costs $6 per call and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

SOURCE: Updating bios, iBuddie A900, Ubuntu.

Go to bootdisk.com and download Driver Free Disk For Bios Flashing. Click the link #1 next to it. It is right there on the front of the page. After that throw a floppy drive in your pc. Run the program I made you download after inserting a floppy. It will create a floppy image. Then take another floppy and copy the 2 bios files you got from the manufacturer ( the exe and the bin file) and copy them to the second floppy. Now boot the pc from the first floppy. Once it says A:\ pop the floppy out and switch it. Dos will continue to run from your system ram. Now make sure the second disk is in. Run the exe in dos. Then once in the exe. enter the name of the bin file. Remember to include the file extension. Back up your original bios file if it gives you the option. It will copy it onto your floppy just incase your new bin file is corrupt. Then you can use this process again if everyting is screwed. Do as the prog says and it will do the rest. Enjoy!

SOURCE: pc chips a33g no boot windows

If you have a SATA hard drive your windows disk needs SATA drivers on it.
Download Driverspack from this site
http://driverpacks.net/DriverPacks/
Mass storage one
then copy windows CD to hard drive and use "Nlite" to install driverpack into it then burn windows to new CD and try again.
This should solve your problem

SOURCE: Wanted better operating system then linux suse on my msi u90!!

I would recommend the UBUNTU distribution of Linux. It is based on I believe either Debian or SUSE but there is very good driver support included and it is very user friendly.
You can email them from their web page and they will even mail you the discs free of charge.

Cheers

I'm getting this message unfortunately com.samsung.android.sm.device security has stopped what should I do?

Sounds like you're having an issue with the Android OS itself. Being an ex-Android man (hail team Apple), my experience is rather limited but I work with tech support on a daily basis so I have a good idea that I know the problem. I'm assuming there you're on a Galaxy S6, judging by the problem path. SM Device Security is also called Smart Manager, and it's preloaded onto the S6. If possible, use of this should be entirely curtailed.
As I'd assume that it is currently on, find it in the app drawer and attempt to navigate to a settings tab within the app. I'm assuming there will be a set of toggles to turn on and off services. If so, flip them all to off. If not, go into Settings and find system services. See if you see any application called SM Device Security running. If so, click on it and either manually quit it or prevent it from running by itself. Reboot the phone and see if that made a difference.

On my proscan tablet, why Is my (little Android dude) laing on his back with the Red explanation mark coming out of his tummy

This normally means android is installing something inportant into the android OS. This symbol appears when updating, when changes setting on reboot, and occasionally shows when the tablet is having hardware error (have you dropped it recently?).
Try removing anything attached (i.e. memory cards, cables, charging cords) and resetting the device.

I have a BENQ MID S6 with Linux and I was wondering if it could be changed to a different OS?

It looks pretty proprietary to me, but basically, if you can install software on a device, you can usually change the OS, if you are software savvy enough. There might be some tedious modifications that might need to be made. If it was me, I think I might explore the user settings on your device and see if you can't make what you have more to your liking. Good luck whatever you do.
