Call the repairs center at 800-706-2534 and then keep choosing option 1. Tell them what's going on and that you would like to send it in for repairs. If they ask just lie and tell them you already talked to tech support. LOL

There are plenty of watches around where you can find writing Shortcut battery and AC. Some writings explain how many times you have to shortcut and for how long as well. Make sure you read exactly what it says and do exactly what it says. Shortcut is needed to restore all watch settings and to make all functions work properly. Shortcut must be done right after replacing watch battery, before any settings. Please note - if you are not quick enough with battery replacement, all previous data from watch memory will be lost. Usual max time for battery replacement is 3 minutes. So, when you decide to replace battery, do it as fast as you can, just make sure do not damage the watch in a rush. When the new battery is in place and in right position, get an eyeglass or magnifying glass and carefully examine watch movement all way around. You should find brass/silver coloured contact with letters AC next to it or even on it. This is exact point for shortcut. Take fine pointed tweezers and touch with one pointed end battery's + and with another end AC contact and hold for 3 seconds. If writing in the watch says Shortcut twice, then do it twice for 3 seconds. When shortcut is done, your watch is ready for use and you can set the desired time, date, month and so on.Hope this will help for everyone who want's to save few quid on watch repairer charges. There are plenty of watches around where you can find writing Shortcut battery and AC. Welcome to FixYa!
You actually do not need to do that. Your watch should be up and running after you change the battery. Short-circuiting the watch is for restoring it to factory settings and it should be done by a watch professional. Doing a wrong short circuit will can damage your watch permanently.
Thank you for using FixYa. Have a great day.

How do I replace the watch battery for Casio DW-6900?

mcdevito75 here, Casio uses an LCD crystal, Liquid Display Crystal, during a battery change any, any un do pressure remopveing or replaceing the battery could destroy the LCD. Take my advise, with a casio watch, look for a small watch repair shop in your area for the battery change. I"ve ruined many of my casio watches during battery change.

I just replace the battery for a casio watch 2315 but it still does not work

Hi, I just encountered the same problem today as I was changing the battery and I found the solution. First make sure when you are changing the battery that the watch stem is pulled out; then after the battery has been replaced, and before you put the gasket and back on you will need to "reset" or "hotwire" the battery ....you are going to likely need a magnifying glass to find a tiny ac symbol on the back of the watch (without the back cover replaced)...just next to the ac symbol is a tiny hole. Take a piece of wire, or in my case I used an unfolded paper clip, and put one end of the wire in the hole and the other end on the back of the battery (the +/positive side should be facing up). Leave the wire in contact with the ac/battery for 5 seconds, then remove. Next replace the rubber gasket, then the back and the screws. Lastly, push in the watch stem. Your watch should now work. I found out through considerable research that almost all digital watches will need that "hotwiring" step performed after the battery is replaced.
