SOURCE: How to remove printhead from canon i860

The gray-colored arm (it's not that small) is to the right of the cyan cartridge. It is the arm or extension of the gray-colored hinged cover. Remove all ink cartridges, lift the gray-colored arm up, and pull the print head out. Clean the print head with a cotton ball soaked with water or rubbing alcohol. Dry and re-install the print head.

With power on, open the top cover and wait for the head to come to the center, after removing the inks, lift the gray handle on the left side and lift out the printhead. The top leans toward you first, just lift it out. Soaking in warm water about 1/4 inch deep overnight is the best cleaner.

Blurry colorwashed photos from canon pixma pro9000. What can I do to fix this?

Hi there, I located this video about removing the print head and cleaning it. I've had to clean my print head from time to time, so take a look at this video and see if it can give some help. Your printer might not look exactly the same, but you should be able to remove the print head. If cleaning the print head doesn't clean up the color issue, try contacting Cannon support: Canon Contact Us. I wish you best of luck!

Remove print head canon mp480

THe print heads are an integral part of each cartridge. When you remove the cartridges you actually remove the print heads. You will need to open the top front panel to access the print carriage which moves left and right over the paper under it. Using cotton swabs you can apply rubbing alcohol to the places the cartridges rest upon and absorb all the dried out ink. Be sure you toss the old cartridges out before you reassemble. If you need to store any ink type printers REMOVE ALL CARTRIDGES and clean off the receivers on the print carriage!

Yellow ink will not print

You may have blocked yellow print head nozzles.

Try the printer maintenance to clear the printer nozzles.
After several deep cleaning attempts and there is no improvements in the printthen a new print head is required.
A new print head maybe expensive and it maybe more cost effective to purchase anew printer.
The Print head will contain all the nozzels for all the different colors so you cannot just replace a single color print head nozzels.

A paper jam on my canon ip4800 caused the print to be misaligned. now the edges are not straight. help!

When the paper does not feed straight, dirty or stickyrollers can cause it to jamb or crinkle, also failure to remove all traces ofpaper from a previous paper jamb will cause further paper jambs.
Check for tiny pieces of at the edges of the rollers, and remove these piecesof paper. The rollers may be dirty or sticky and causes the paper tonot feed straight.
Try cleaning the rollers with methylated spirits.

Inkwells are full, i have run through the auto cleaning process and still no print how do i clean the nozzles

If your Canon has a removable print head as many of them do, remove the print head and set it with the head sitting in an ounce or two of household ammonia overnight and flush under running water. Our Canon doesn't get used enough to stay clean so this has to be done fairly often if we need to print anything. If any residue remains, try a low-fiber paper towel with some window cleaner to gently scrub the printing surface.

It doesn't print in black but prints in color

Hi, To ensure this is only an issue with the black, I recommend printing off a nozzle check. This will show you if this problem is effecting any of the other colours.
To print a nozzle please refer to chapter 12 page 115 of the manual,
If colours are missing I recommend cleaning the print head. You have two options for cleaning the print head a normal clean and a deep clean, start by doing a normal clean if required try doing a deep clean.
