OK, feel free to reject my post, I found a manual for a different model. Go to this site and see if this will help you. -> http://www.harborfreight.com/manuals/42000-42999/42528.PDF <- Copy and past this address into a new window it should open up the PDF file. If you can't access the PDF file in your window - the go to This site -> -> http://powertool.manualsonline.com <- and search for Brad nailer model Number 42528 that is as close as I could find. or try this one -> http://powertool.manualsonline.com/manuals/mfg/harbor_freight_tools/42528.html

My Tacwise 500el fires nails but does not punch them below surface, even of softwood. Can I adjust to cure this?

Many nailers and staplers do not have an adjustment for how deep the nail will drive. Usually, the nail is driven too deep so one must use shims under the nose to space up from the work. However, in your case the nail is not driven deep enough. This is usually caused by a missing tip. To check if your tip is broken off, try dry firing (no nails) the gun into soft wood. The driver should leave a divot indicating that the tip is good. Removing the rubber protector on the safety foot will slightly increase depth as well as filing the thickness of the safety will get you closer to the work. Finally, the safety foot is what activates or trips the gun. It pushes on a button to fire so if the safety is too long, it will activate the firing mech before the nose is all the way down against the work. Good luck

I have an older gun can't read any specs the lables are worn off, the guns safety plunger is sticking allowing for free fire of the gun. most of my other guns have a step plunger with the spring r

To find the model number, look on ebay for hitachi framers and hopefully you will find one listed that looks like yours. If no joy, take the gun to your local fastener/nailgun dealer for parts. The dealer most likely has box full of used parts for your gun. I have seen many older nailers with bent safety foot that caused the plunger to stick in the engaged position. Some nailers have the safety return spring incorporated within the trigger plunger /valve area and still others that have the spring hidden under a guard on one side of the nailer (guard part # 883493). Look under the main body of the nailer for an indention where one side of the safety spring fits into (less than 1/2 inch in diameter) ; directly below the indention will be a point on the safety foot to catch the other side of the spring. Good luck

Tacwise nailer when pressing the trigger nothing happens

check the user manual as some machines will not fire unless the nailer is pressed on the timber.
