My NEC NW 652 washing machine is showing an E9 fault. When i hit the power button the E9 message appears

    On Power up the error code E9 displays with a continuous beep,

    Same problem. Anyone know what E9 means?

    Thanks Dave, I appreciate that. Mine seems to working OK now. At least I know where to start looking if it plays up again.

    I replaced the sensor, didn't fix the prob. Eventually found a broken contact in the plug that connects the sensor to the circuit.Inserted a sliver of thin copper , 1.5mmX15mm, bent into a tight u-shape.Paid $70 for a sensor I don't need...

    on power up the error code E9 comes up and prevents the machine from filling.

E9 means the waterlevel sensor is defective or the pipe connected to it is faulty.

Sounds like the water level pressure sensor is not working. The code (E9) means the switch is open.


You'll need to replace the pressure switch. Check the manual for the repair procedures.

E9 message and machine stops


Jayshree, E9 error, pressure sensor error/water sensor error.
Replace water level sensor. The error display disappears if power button is turned off and on.This is what the service manual states.

I have a nec nw-652 top loader when i start the machine the water fills the tub but at the same time i can hear small amount of water is going down the drain then stops. Once the water in machine is topped...


Hi just read your posting.Now can you please let me know where your drain hose is draining to,Is it into the laundry sink or some place else.Can you see the water coming out of the drain hose?Please reply with additional information and I am sure I can help you rectify this fault.Looking forward to your reply.

NEC NW 892 Errror E9


This error is related to the pressure sensor


check connections or replce pressure sensor

Check at the water source end of the hose and make sure the filter is not occluded. Both hot and cold. more likely the cold side as the hot water may disolve the particles more easily.

If all else seems good you will have to replace the sensor

i am having the almost the same problem with what i have, if it is turn, the water will just keeping on pouring in non stop, it does matter wether it is wash, rinse, dry or spin the water will just keep on pouring in at all time, it is not a good machine at all.
