if you open the top of your stove, you will see that there is an aluminum or metal tubing for each one. Where the tubing is over the orifice at the individual valve, there should be some type of air gap allowing it to induce oxygen into the system. Some of these connections have an adjustment where if you rotate the adjustment sleeve, it will increase or decrease the amount of air being induced. If there is a sleeve, rotate it to where the opening is greater. If there is not an adjustment sleeve, something is plugging the air flow. Clean this area.

On a gas stove, you simply choose the desired temperature. If the stove is operating normally, it will automatically adjust the flame.

FLAME IS YELLOW INSTEAD BLUE for sunbeam gas range

Yellow usually means more air than gas mixing at the burner. The top of the stove lifts off. There are adjustment screws in front of every burner. Turn the burner on after first locating the screw. Turn the adjustment screw until desired flame is achieved. You want a flame with a yellow tip and the body of the flame blue. Please be very careful not to get burned. Hope this helps.

Gas range burner flame too high and too yellow.

Did it work OK in that location before the changes?
Sounds like you used Natural gas parts instead of LP.
Lp orifices have smaller holes than Nat.

Blue flames on top of stove now more yellow than red

Have it checked out by a QUALIFIED gas person!! Don't screw around with gas unless you want to wake up dead due to carbon monoxide poisoning or an explosion!!!! Gas is NOT a forgiving task-master.

I cannot seem to get an answer from Amana as to how I convert my natural gas range to LP. According to Amana no conversion kit is needed. Yet they cannot tell me how to convert it. The model number is:...

Gas ranges usually come with LP orifices attatched to them somewhere. In a small envelope or bag taped to the back or in the drawer they should be there. The natural orifices need to be removed and the LP ones installed. If the LP orifices are not installed properly you may get irratic flame and the flame can blacken the bottom of pans this needs to be remedied immediately due to the danger of the carbon monoxide being produced. I found good instructions for LP conversion at this site : www.peerlesspremier.com/faq-rangeconversion.htm
