Question about Tempur-Pedic TP9000 Ergonomic Mesh Mid-Back Task Chair

Open Question

The chair will not tilt back

There is a lever closest to the fron of the chair that seems to do nothing. Turning the tension screw makes no difference either. No instructions available.

I can't adjust the back of the chair. The adjustment lever doesn't seem to be working.

Hello Andrew Colannino,

I have actually been contemplating your "REMARK"

""I can't adjust the back of the chair.
The adjustment lever doesn't seem to be working.""

I even pulled your HISTORY... to see if you
had previously dropped any clues... & I had simply
missed it... Your WORDS have failed you.

Modern chairs come in all shapes & sizes...
levers, tensioners... motors... vibrators... lumbar
supporters... speakers... No make/model... type...?

While I do like to ATTEMPT read as much as
possible FROM scant information ...

NO EXTRA CHARGE (for actually communicating)...
((Free is one thing... )).

MY very best suggestion for your "entry"
would be to FLIP IT OVER take some pictures
and attach them... because Your WORDS have
failed you... MISERABLY ((worthless (utterly))).

The repairman for our vendor figured out, as he was about to replace some mechanisms so our Boss B9431 chairs would tilt, that they were not broken! While flipping down the paddle on the left can lock the chair in a particular angle, once you've tilted it, it will not tilt IF the height adjustment lever on the right is PUSHED IN towards the chair, locking out the capability of tilting. You have to gently pull the height lever away from the chair, sliding 0.5 or 0.7 inches, to activate the tilt ability. This may be the case with other models, or may not.

Today I turned my wheel chair on and it would not go forward or back. The indicator on the control panel shows I have a full charge. This has never happened before. I did some checking, when I put the...

I am making some assumptions based on your description of the problem:
1: You have a Jazzy 1113 with tilt.
2. You have batteries that are fully charged as indicated by the battery display
3. Your chair is not in freewheel, that is the brakes are engaged with the levers in the correct position.
4. The motors are not turning.
5.You do not state the type of tilt system but I am assuming it is either true balance tilt by Pride or Motion Concepts tilt.
6.You have no flash error code on the battery display.
7. You do have a flash error on the joystick.

My initial response based on these assumptions is that your chair is in drive lock out and the electronics are inhibited because of the following reasons:
You have a bad switch that indicates to the electronics that the chair is in tilt or more than 20 degrees of tilt. You have a bad inhibit harness. You have a bad end of travel switch on the actuator. The list is long depending on the system.
Check all the wiring and switches associated with the tilt system for broken/disconnected wiring.
Get back to me with exact specs of the system including type of tilt system and the serial number of the chair so I can research the configuration and give you exact and not general answers. I hope we are off to a good start.

Hi I got a jet 3 that is charging but won't move at all, the right motor makes a noice like if it was turning but nothing moves, the other motor doesn't make any noice at all.

cali check that you don't have the chair in freewheel. The levers are on each motor at the rear of the chair. Make sure they are both in drive position. If they aren't in freewheel then you have another problem. Make sure that the charger is unplugged from the wall and that you get all of the battery level lights lit on the joystick when you turn it on. If all seems ok and you still get no response then the problem could be the joystick or the power module and only a tech will be able to diagnose the problem. If Medicare paid for your chair then they will pay most of the repair costs contact your provider or a repair service like Roadrunner Mobility. Hope this helps you

The upper tension will not tighten on my Janome MC 8000. I have had it since '93 with no problems and all of a sudden when I was stitching the tension became loose on top (it was looping and making a mess...

Check for lint or thread in the top tension unit.....try "flossing" (as you would teeth) with a clean cloth.
Symptoms indicate top tension is being kept slightly open by debris.
Playing with the screw inside the cover on left of tension unit is not a great idea, it is designed for fine adjustment when tensioner is clean, so try to reset back to what it was before fiddling if you can remember how may turns you made.
If you continue to have problems, send a quick email (please mention the model and issue, we get a LOT of requests) and I shall see what else we can do to get you back on track.

Vibrates very loudly when brush starts spinning

take out screws on bottom and see if tension bar can be tightened, make sure the right belt is in there, also if belt looks worn or gouged replace with a new belt
