Question about Computers & Internet

1 Answer

My brother my Sony digicam into the USB port of my pc to download pics from it, but upon clickingon the digicam's memory, a virus alert was sounded and then it became frequent, so my brother unplugged my digicam from the USB port. But upon opening 'My Computer' , it became evident that the virus had already attacked all my hard drives, as particular folders like 'Documents' and 'Photos' were automatically pasted on each of the drives (i have four four of them, C,DE,F) , all of which have a fixed size of 316 Kb and none of these folders can be deleted. Due to this , most applications on my pc are not running as they automatically shut themselves down within seconds of running them, even my Avast antivirus is stopping its scan within few seconds of its running and shutting itself down by itself. I have already formatted C drive, but the problem still persists. Do i need to format all the hard drives ? What seems to be the problem ?? Please help.......!!

Format all your hard drive and do a clean install, One tip though, how to avoid Virus attack is not letting the virus to your system, how? for example, a virus came from your USB drive, it won't attack your system if you cancel all the autorun pop ups when you insert the usb drive and do not double click on it, double clicking on USB triggers the Autoplay and virus spreads out like a pandoras box, If you get what I mean it could save you from virus.

Install a good Anti Virus of your choice and always update the virus definition in order for you to be fully protected and be very careful on clicking links on some websites, anti virus has a feature that knows if a website has a potential virus or not, use it.

Consider NOT using the USB connection.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program, such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).

In order to get photos from your pc to your camera you require to connect it to your pc using usb cable provided with your digicam and install the driver cd came alongwith it. Then you can simply browse my computer and copy paste your photos to digicam memory or else you can get a card reader connect it to pc copy files to the card and then put it into your digicam.

Can't download pics

Dear daj43

I think u have not installed the software for it on ur pc, incase u have installed the software and still it persists, try to notice if the software is loaded and running when connecting the camera. I would always suggest u to remove the memory card and use it in a memory card reader/writer to transfer the images to pc.
