SOURCE: No Ice & no chilled water from frig.

First off does this model have a water filter if so...and if it is old and or full of filtered material the water will not dispense anywhere.

Ok...the way to test for power is obviously with meter you can easily check the solenoid leading to the inside of the frig by exposing where the connectors attach to the solenoid...but do not remove them completely you should have a continual 110/120 v supply...someone at the front of the unit can depress the dispenser and you will hear the solenoid activate...if it does not...the same should apply for the ice maker solenoid...unless it is activated by the timer (electrically) and not mechanically (which it usually is) if you are getting voltage to both of these....and you have voltage to the primary solenoid...(which you may not) if you do not have a filter...and both of the other valves stopped working at the same time..(which would be rare). Then there may be an electrical problem in general. Also you can check to see if the firdge is cold enough to make ice by manually filling the Ice maker with water...it should freeze in under 4 hours and dump the ice also...if it does...them it lies in an electrical problem in general or electrical problem to the primary solenoid. Also do you have hard water....as it may be posible for calcium deposits to accumulate at the valve inlets...and often there are tiny screens in place here also. Check for water continuity at the valves if possible.

I hope this helps....good luck and get back to me and we can go from what you find out.....please rate me.... the Fang

SOURCE: GE Refrigerator Model gss25sgrbss water line problem

At the bottom of the freezer door ( remove the kick plate ) , there will be a water line . Follow this line , about 6 " to a connector . Push in on the white ring and pull out the line , at the same time . Activate the water dispensor pad and see if water flows from the line under the refrig . If it does , then the line in the door is frozen . Either raise the freezer temp for several days , so the line in the door will thaw , or , I have heard using an air tank will blow the ice out of the line in the door . If no water comes from the line under the refrig , while activating the pad , then replace the water valve , behind the refrig , the piece the wall water line connects to on the refrig .

Need to replace the water inlet solenoid

The Samsung side by sides and french doors have split systems meaning both freezer and ref have evaps. Your water reservoir could be frozen. They have DC heater that is attached to reservoir so it does not freeze, this could be your problem. The other problem that I have run across is the water line in the door can be frozen. If it is the door, you can check by locating where it enters the door, because it will have a quick disconnect. Disconnect water line and grab a cup and place cup under diconnected line coming from cabinet on the door and press or have someone call for water on fountain. Let me know if that helps. Thanks Logan.

Frigidaire FRS26HF6BW2 side by side Refrigerator, water out of valve ok with good pressure but no water enters the filter, unable to disconnect water line input to the filter to see if clogged. How to...

The plastic feed line from the inlet valve in the bottom right hand side of the back going up to the top left hand side feeds the filter. You can shut-off the water from the house tap, and then cut the plastic filter feed line in the middle somewhere, and install a john-guess coupling on the inlet valve end of the cut line. Then you can tip that line into a bucket, turn on the water tap and see if water comes out into the bucket, if it does, then proceed to the next step.
Sometimes the filter cartridge has a thin piece of plastic that remains on the cover, obstructing the water inlet ports in the filter housing. Always use a mfg.'s specified filter, not a Chinese "Knock-Off".

Cannot get the fuel filter off the quick disconnect is not releasing

Most of the time that the disconnects are not working is because of dirt and grime build up. Most of the fuel filters take a line disconnect tool to release the clips. If your filter has plastic clips that you can see at the connection, you should be able to pinch the clips together while moving the line back and forth or twisting back and forth to disconnect the tabs. If this is not working, used compressed air to blow out all the debris from the quick disconnect. Other filter take the fuel line disconnect tools. Dirt and grime give the tools grief in getting the lines disconnected too. Clean the lines before attempting removal and you can save yourself a lot of grief. Hope this helps.

I've moved and when I reconnected my refrigerator the water and ice maker doesn't work. I know there's water to the valve coming out of the floor and I installed a new filter.

Were the doors removed in the move? If so, the electric connection and / or the water line connection for the water dispenser maybe disconnected. Is the filter in correctly? Is there any evidence the refrigerator leaks water? You said you know there is water to the valve, so you disconnected the water line, put the water line in a bucket, turned the water on and you filled the bucket right? You might have a problem with the water valve solenoids for both the ice maker and the water dispenser. Also, check for any kinks in the plastic water lines anywhere.

Ge fridge- water dispenser in door wont work yet ice maker does.

There are a few reasons for this. Most common, is the water filter. After a period of time(literage usage) the filter eventually blocks up.Flow will not continue until a new one is installed. On occasion, the water line in the freezer ices up, but doesn't often happen. If so, you will need to defrost freezer until pipe is no longer iced up(set freezer to about -20 degrees celsius).or very possible, water solenoid at the back of the fridge has gone faulty. You will need help with this check,There will be 2 valves. Very possibly it will be the RHS one at the back. Switch water supply off at the back then go to the water solenoids at the back of the fridge.and disconnect the one pipe on the solenoid that leads into the fridge. Open fridge water tap again and ask member to quickly press water dispenser lever.Note if water squirts out for that brief period.. If not, reconnect pipe again then do the same disconnection to the second solenoid. If no water comes out then,(make sure water is open), then the water valve needs to be replaced.

My refrigerator model GSS25SGMF (side by side) does not dispense water (ice works fine). I understand it might be one of 2 issues 1) Solenoid or 2) water inlet screen clogged with debris. How do I...

Remove lower grill and disconnect the water line going through the freezer door hinge. Usually it is a push lock fitting, which requires you to push the ring on the end of the fitting toward the center of the fitting while pulling (not hard) on the plastic tube. Now place a pan under the separated plastic hose and try the water dispenser. If water comes out, your problem is a frozen water line in the freezer door. A warmer freezer temp may help, or you can order and install a WR49X101073 water tube heater. (the heater may take 24 hours to thaw the line, but I have used it successfully several times. Cost about $50) If no water comes out the separated tube when you try to dispense water, reconnect the tube at the hinge by pushing the plastic line back into the fitting. Now, at the back of the refrig., disconnect the water line going from the water valve to the fresh foods compartment. Try to dispense water. No water at valve outlet = bad valve. Water dispensed from valve now = frozen water filter or water line at back bottom of fresh foods compartment. (make sure you disconnect the right tube. If in doubt, disconnect them both, just get them back correctly so your icemaker continues to work) Send me additional comments if needed. Don't rate before you try all the steps.

Comment by MNTECH, posted on May 20, 2009 Sorry, didn't notice that I put an extra zero in the part number. It should be a WR49X10173

GE Refrigerators - Water dispenser not working ? I

remove front grill then disconnect the water line at the quick connector. Place line on right side into container and push lever for water. If no water flows the problem is a solenoid on the left side of the back of refrig behind lower panel. If water flows into container the problem is related to freezing of the water line in the freezer door. GE fix is a $500 plus door replacement. Thaw from back of door behind the dispenser with hair dryer (do not get plastic too hot). Cheap fix is to insulate back of door with insulation such as a foam sleeping bag mat or the foil and bubble wrap type of ducy insulation

No water going to humidifier

Easy fix: Check the solenoid. Turn off the power to your humidifier and the central air unit. On the side of your humidifier is a brass solenoid. It can get clogged with lime and calcium. Most videos and instruction manuals tell you to replace the solenoid. No need if you can turn a wrench.

1. After all power is off turn the water off to the humidifier and disconnect the top line water line at the nut.

2. Disconnect the bottom line water line that will go to your humidifier.

3. Take a Philips screw driver and remove the two screws that hold the solenoid on the side of the plastic housing of the humidifier.

4. Leave the wires connected unless you need more room to work. If you disconnect the wires then label them with tape (colored) so you put them back on correctly.

5. In the inlet or outlet water pip of the solenoid is a trainer that may be clogged. With a paper clip pull it out and clean it. If it’s clearly clogged then stop and put all back together. That may have been your problem.

6. If it’s not clogged then it may be clogged inside the solenoid.

7. The nut on the end of the solenoid is silver. Take it off and the magnet (main power unit) will slide off.

8. Notice the flat head screw post on the end of the solenoid. Turn it and remove. Be careful as a small spring loaded plunger is inside.

9. Take apart and clean all parts. You should be able to blow air in the intake water line tube and it go out the out water line tube as well as were the plunger hits in the center of the solenoid. If not then it’s clogged.

10. If clogged then just soak all but any parts with rubber or plastic in a small white vinegar solution for a couple of hours to eat away that lime. If it’s not clogged then you probably have a bad solenoid.

11. To check and see if the solenoid is bad just put it all back together but do not re-wire the solenoid to the humidifier.

12. Turn on everything without the wires going to the solenoid (turn on meaning put power back to the unit.

13. When the system is running as it should without the humidifier and solenoid wires attached check the two lead wires with a volt meter for 24v. If you have 24v then you have a bad solenoid and need a new one. If no 24v then you may need a new control panel.

Hope this helps you out.
