SOURCE: broil element will not work

You need to check the oven sensor. It should be about 11k ohms. This is the metal rod in the back top of oven cavity. Access it from the rear. UNPLUG POWER FIRST!!

SOURCE: 970-686133 Bake and Broil Element not working

Typically what happens on on these models, when the bake element breaks, it sends a surge back to the oven control (or clock) and causes it to fail also. Sounds like this is what has happened here. If the overlay (touchpad) is a separate piece, you will need to buy it also. Let me know if you have any questions.

SOURCE: Kenmore model 790-96614407 oven stopped heating

Check that you have not lost one side of the 240 volt line at the receptacle. This would be MOST noticeable on the oven but would also reduce the cooktop.

Beyond that, the thermostat and oven timer are suspect.

Inadvertently setting a delayed start of the oven could cause it of course, but that would be obvious.

SOURCE: oven won't heat on broil or bake.

Typically - Heating elements will not fail at the same time - nor will relays.... so your CLOCK is the culprit in this situation.

For replacement parts - head on over to PartSelect.com or RepairClinic.com and enter in your full model number for a full parts listing.
I recommend both sites because ...

FixYa has no affiliation with either site - I have been using and recommending them for years - trouble free.

PartSelect has a great schematic database for locating the part on your unit and great "testimonials" for each part that often times includes HOW-TO information.
RepairClinic has pictures of each part they sell and also a great how-to and troubleshooting for basic repairs.

If your unit has never been serviced - there should still be an original service manual enclosed in plastic taped to the inside of the shell.
In the service manual are Error codes, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting steps you can follow.

Anything too complicated or beyond your scope should be handled by a professional.

If you think you want to tackle the repair - and have gotten stuck on a step - reply to your question and I will be glad to help you out.

Kenmore electric range model 911.95875790, no heat to either baking and broiler elements.

Hello. I looked carefully at the service manual for your unit--surprisingly, there is no thermal switch inline with the bake/broil elements. Usually, if the bake or broil elements pop, this blows out the thermal switch, killing power to the elements for safety. The main control board can get damaged due to the high current draw during a short-circuit. The part number for the main board is WB27T10008. The overlay(the decorative sticker with the button/names on it) numbers are as follows: almond WB27T10022, black WB27T10023, and white WB27T10021. I hope this helps you!

I have a Kenmore Range Model # 970-5060 and the top element will not work on bake but will on Broil. What is the problem?

No problem - that's the way it is supposed to work.
Note: in some ranges/ovens, the broil (upper) element is a little bit of the time to help even out temperatures, but it will not glow red.

Kenmore electric range - oven temp low and takes forever to heat

if lower element tests open with continuity meter then it for sure is bad. i would also check the wire ends that connect to the element and/or the control board, they could have loosened allowing a bad connection and low voltage to elementor burnt off.. most ovens do not use the broil element at all during the bake cycle, only during the broil cycle.. some however do utilize the broil element during baking, but at a lower wattage or something..
best of luck,
ttfn
