WARNING: Before you start troubleshooting remember that you are dealing with electricity that can KILL. http://www.kitchentablecomputers.com/static.php - rules Remove added memory If you've recently added or tried to add additional memory to the computer and have started getting these beeps. Remove all new memory you've added to the computer. If the computer works fine after removing the new memory you're encountering either an incompatibility or defective new memory. Open computer and reseat memory Sometimes when the computer is moved or over time a memory stick can become loose causing the computer to be unable to read the memory or get errors as it's reading it. Try fixing this issue by opening the computer removing each of the memory sticks you have in the computer and then placing them back into the computer. Swap memory location If reseating the memory did not resolve the issue try swapping the location of the memory. If you have only one stick of memory in the computer try moving it to another slot and then boot the computer. If you have more than one stick of memory try removing all but one stick of memory and boot the computer. Remove the memory modules from their slots. Take the opportunity to clean the slots on the motherboards and the memory module connectors. Use compressed air to blow dust away and clean contacts with a soft cloth. Do not use a metallic vacuum cleaner if it touches any component it may create a short and cause damage to the motherboard or other components. Do not use solvent that may attract dust and never poke things like cotton buds in to slots. lightly rub an alcohol on a cloth not to hard let the alcohol do the work on the copper gold or silver tabs and r Allow the pins to dry. They will air dry in a matter of minutes If this does not resolve the issue try removing that stick of memory and try one of the other sticks of memory. Try another computers memory If you have access to another computer that uses the same memory, try using its known good memory in your computer. If another computers memory works you know that you have bad memory. If another computers memory does not work and it is compatible with your computer unfortunately your motherboard or the slots on the motherboard are defective causing it to be unable to properly read the memory, which means the motherboard will have to be replaced. Replace memory If it is determined the memory in the computer is bad we suggest that you replace it if you're not sure if a module is right for your system, use the Crucial Memory Advisor tool for a list of guaranteed compatible modules. First you will need to select the manufacturer from a drop down list then select your product line from a drop down list then select the model then click find it will take you directly to compatible ram also you will have an option to scan your system You should always ask for a guarantee on the compatibility before making any purchase and try to buy for working pairs if possible b> Hope this helps.

It is commenly known thay the bips may refer to a Ram crash or misplaced maybe because you have laptop has been shaked unproperly. Try to check up your RAM slots ;)

Will not power on


if all fan are spin up.
see your RAM, maybe its broken.
a computer need a routine checking all RAM, if its not good, your computer will freeze.
try pull out and put it again. if its doesn't work. replace it.
PS. when you pull out your computer with all RAM pulled out and doesn't heard any BIP BIP BIP (BIOS POST CODE) noise. I can Assume your Mainbpard or ypur processor is broken. maybe its sound scary but its not. see for computer service center to help, they can give you good advice.

check your ram modules and also check if your video cards fans are running right. If both are ok then try clearing the bios it should work out

I have problem about ram


If the manual says this motherboard support up to 1 GB RAM, you cannot put 2 GB. You can put 2x 512 GB RAM or 1GB RAM
Also try to upgrade your bios, maybe a better bios version supports more than 1 GB RAM.

Are you sure the onboard video is working? Try an external card and see if this works. All the beeps when you remove the memory is good because you know the processor is working.Are you sure you have the right memory? Some machines won't boot or anything when you have the wrong memory.

Hi sir i have an acer aspire 5101 which bips when i swtich it on and nothing shows on the screen.i have checked the ram an hard dive and they both ok


1st step you can check how many bips you hear, if continous bips , checks your vga by change with other if you sure that your ram and hd is ok, 2st if problem isn't solved ,remove all your card and clean all contact part all card with liquid cleaner, pci slot vga slot ram slot and processor socket after that you can try to assemble your card again , ok good try

Its probably bad ram chip. Check that it is seated correctly. Then use another PC to do a google search on beep codes and isolate the actual problem by you PC bios type..
