Am trying to find out if HomeBase, as it is Windows based platform, could or would be compatable with Apple software or if it is possible to "convert" HomeBase via software so that it can be used with Apple products. At present I use Windows but am fed up with many aspects of it and would prefer to change. Any advise would be much appreciated.

Anyone else getting server error on Cobra Homebase when opening it?

Had the same issue. After weeks, and 2 calls to Cobra later w/o success, it clicked in my head...router firewall!

Temporarily change your firewall settings to minimum security and you should see the server error disappear and server available show up in Cobra HomeBase. Download what you wish to update and then reset your router firewall to the security level you had it on originally.

Check if its doing updates or running scans at random times. You can probably schedule them. See if this helps.

I cannot turn on the antivirus in webroot spysweeper.

Sounds like you have a non-AV version of Webroot if options are greyed out. If not, uninstall and re-
If you've used "Hijack This" then you've used one of the best tools available for tracking down issues
with malware. Remember, it is better to scan for malware in Windows SAFE MODE. Superantispyware
is an excellent and free utility. Also try Panda's free online service too. If your system is clean and still
slow, then your registry might be the culprit in addition to the usual suspects (defrag'd drives, windows
temp files, cookies, etc).

Webroot antivirus with antispyware is not finding any cookies or viruses but we were told by Best Buy that there are some on the computer. Any idea why it is not working?

Well cookies aren't necassarily a bad thing. As fr the viruses try avast antivirus it is free for home use and it has a very high catch rate. Give that a shot and go from there.
Thank you,
