Your vehicle requires a friction additive in the transmission. Install that first and retest.

Shudder could be the lockup torque converter if it is an automatic transmission. Another one would be the drive axles. Check the CV joints and u-joint in the drivetrain. If the shudder comes and goes with load changes, it could be either. However, to tell if it is the torque converter, watch the tachometer when the shudder occurs. If the RPM rises slightly, then drops off as the shudder stops, it is the torque converter. There is an additive for this issue that can be purchased an any parts store, called shudder-ease. Hope this helps you.

04 ram 1500 2wd. trans shudder at cruising speeds under 55? Doesn't during acceleration. Change filter and fluid to no avail.

That sounds like a torque converter problem more than likely. It sounds like it's trying to lock up (supposed to do that above 60mph) at a low speed. It will feel like a harsh shift or a shudder when it's trying to engage. Just to make sure I'm correct, drive it and listen to all the gears. When at 55-60mph after it has gone into it's top gear it will normally drop about 200-300rpm when the torque converter locks up.

Torque convertor shudder going uphill in my 1992 Dodge Caravan, A604-transmission.

A TC shudder on a 604 is the first sign of the end. You may can get away with putting a torque converter in it , if you do it soon ( tomorrow). If it shudders going up hill it is most likely not the converter since the clutch is released under load. I would suspect and engine miss first.I am constantly dealing with vehicles that someone has diagnosed as a converter shudder and turns out to be something else , most the time just a bad coil or set of plug wires.

Caravan shake when accelerating for 40 - 50 mph ?

In most cases it will be torque converter shudder. The trans fluid is not lubricating properly and causes a less then optimum performance and the lock-up mechanism fails to shift fully. This causes the lock-up to shudder or modulate and gives symptoms of a unbalance wheel at 40-50 mph. Change the fluid and filter and your problems will go away. The fluid should be changed every 30,000 miles...most people don't ever change the fluid and wonder why their trans needs a $3000 fix. Hope it works for you...it did for me.

Transmission light on. Rpm go to 3000 when I'm doing 55mph.it not going into 4th gear (overdrive) what's wrong with my truck?

It seems as though your electronic "lock up" on the torque converter is not actuating. TCC lockup/Torque Converter Clutch lockup.

2001 dodge caravan p0700 code

Hello! Well - both of these codes are in reference to shift pack issues. P0700 is related to torque management, designed to reduce the RPM's at highway speed and lock up the torque converter. If it's throwing this code, there is a strong likelihood that the clutch packs are damaged. P0740 is directly related and will most likely result in the need for the clutch packs being replaced. I wish I had better news to report. :(

Hope this helps and good luck!
