Question about Keurig Platinum B70 Coffee Maker
It worked until it was ready to brew and suddenly just stopped. I did not smell that something was burned or nor saw smoke.
I would like to know if the unit can still be fixed

This is a known problem with the B50 which Keurig will acknowledge if you press them hard. Some users have suggested trying to clean the check valve just inside the water outlet but the best solution is probably to call customer support, complain like crazy, and take the discount on a new machine that they will offer you. Apparently, this problem occurs much more often with the B50 than with more recent models, which may explain why it isn't on the market anymore.

The problem is the water pump has failed. There is a small water pump situated inside the unit right behind where you set the coffee mug. You have to disassemble the outside cover to even get to it. The unit should make a slight humming noise when it first turns on and when dispensing water while making coffee. The noise is the pump refilling the internal reservoir, this is where the heating coil is. We have had three of them fail and each time we were sent a replacement and told to discard of the old unit. Well I kept them for the spare parts, I'm just like that. Well after we got the third one I decided to find out what was really going on with these coffee makers. I took the first one apart, not an easy task I might add, There is a part that is a snapped on part that is not designed to be removed. But with care I got it apart. I started testing all of the electronics and power outputs, which there are may, to see what failed. The heating element, which the service center said was the problem, was not the problem. It worked just fine and no scale buildup. I found that the water pump was not pumping. The lines were getting power, but she no worky… I tested with a meter across the power leads on the pump and nothing. It was shorted out. So I took the second one apart to see what happened to it since it had the same "Not Ready" problem. Well the heating element on this one worked just fine too and no scale buildup. The water pump on this one was defective also, no continuity across the leads. I called the service center and asked if I could order a new pump so I could fix these. I was told they don’t sell parts and that I should not be disassembling the unit, that there were no user serviceable parts inside. I have been searching the Internet for a replacement pump but no luck yet. But that is most likely your problem. A bad water pump. The part number for the pump is , Inversys # CP10-LP / 120V-24W with a duty cycle of 2 min on / 1 min off. If anyone knows where I can get one or two, please post it on this site.

The pic is clogged with coffee or the air bladder is bad. Use the tool on the underside of the tray to clean out pic. If that doesn't work, the bladder will be bad.

Please get a hold of the company at the number in the manual, they will send you a new one if they cannot fix it. Magic words, I got it as a gift three months ago, it worked fine until now. Worked on mine. Sending out a new one today. This company works with you until you are happy. and I am getting 4 boxes of coffee! Free!
