a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US.
click here to Talk to a Technician (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

SOURCE: keyboard and touch pad locked
reboot- if that does not work the keyboard/touchpad may be disconnected or bad. ram is under an access panel on the bottom in the middle- you need a small screwdriver to add ram (ddr)

Hi, if you want to switch numeric keys on or off, you can do so by pressing Fn + Num (located above Backspace) simultaneously.
If this solved your problem, please leave a positive comment for me.

This is the only keypad that is guaranteed by Lenovo to do what you want, no BIOS updates needed
If you want to keep using the no-name one then a BIOS update is mandatory and it's not guaranteed it will work even after it - some generic keypads use software hooks that must automatically trigger the Numlock on the main keyboard to function.
This is the latest available BIOS upgrade
