Which operating system ?

Acer laptops are typically sold with pre-installed Windows operating systems that offer sound-adjustment features for increasing the volume on the laptop's built-in stereo speakers. These same functions can also be used in tandem with external speakers or headphones to increase the volume, as well as mute all sound on the laptop. If the computer should output an unusually low volume, fixing the problem may be no more involved than sliding a control switch with the computer mouse.

Click once on the speaker icon in the taskbar on the lower-right corner to open a rectangular window with a slide control. Click and hold the left mouse button on the slide control to drag it upward, increasing the volume to the laptop's maximum setting. Click the "Mixer" button below the slider control to open another window with volume controls for "Speakers" and "Applications," adjusting each slide control upward to increase the volume. Be sure the speaker icon below each control is not accidentally muted. Click once on each speaker icon to remove the red circle with a slash through it, which will restore audio. Click the Microsoft flag or "Start" button in the lower-left corner if the shortcut speaker icon is missing from the taskbar. Click "Control Panel" to select "Adjust Sounds" from the Hardware and Sounds category. Hope this helps

Check whether the mute function is ON or not. If not, the muting section circuit inside has the fault.

One way of proving it ISN'T the amp circuitry is to remove the pre-main jumpers and jack in a source that has its own volume control (or try a CD that starts really low) because this bypasses ALL the amps controls. If it sounds ok (albeit LOUD) I'd suspect oxidized contacts on the controls. Turn it off and vigorously operate all controls a zillion times to wear through it. In mosty cases it's the unused controls that fail because they never get wiped. Maybe a shot of contact cleaner on those you can access.

Buttkicker Gamer 2 Amplifier won't turn on, light stays orange when it should be green. used to be a struggle sometimes to get it to turn green by using the remote, now it just stays orange all the...

Your Gamer 2 Amp turns on whenever an audio signal is present on the input. The amp can have trouble tuning on if the output of the source (computer sound card, etc.) has been turned down. This can happen easily if you use amplified speakers - if you turn the sound card's volume control down - and then increase the volume at the amplified speaker - the resulting sound is the same; even though the signal has been lowered. The problem is that the output from the sound card isn't sufficient to turn on the Gamer 2 Amp.

Try turning down the external speaker volume, then bump up the sound card volume. You'll probably need to adjust the other inputs individually (Wave, Mic, CD, etc) so that none is too loud or soft. Once the input values have been set, gradually increase the output of the sound card in the control panel application etc. while decreasing the volume on the amplified speaker to maintain a comfortable level. Eventually, you'll find the correct volume level on the sound card output that will wake up the Gamer 2 Amp.

If you're still having trouble, review the manual, here. I hope this helps & good luck!

Hello! I'm having problems during a phone call with my speaker volume being too low unless speaker phone is on. All other sounds are loud & clear. I've tried resetting & turning the phone...

Did you happen to update to iOS 5? Because since the update. Mine has been the same way. The volume is very low. and sometimes even the speaker isn't too loud either unless I'm playing music.

If you did not update to iOS 5. Then your speaker might be blocked and easily cleaned with a cotton swab, or the speaker is just old and going out.

I need multimedia audio controller drivers

all your drivers are available on the toshiba site (click on downloads)

There's a manual volume control just on the inboard side of the shell. It's sort buried below the surface of the shell. It turns out this is a knob for tuning up the hardware.

That's the most common reason for missing audio among Toshiba owners.

For some reason, the User's Guide doesn't say much (if anything) about that volume-control dial.

Click on this link or copy and paste the complete link into your browser.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it and give a testimonial for my response

Thanks, Joe

Do you turn on standby every time and wait for the tubes to heat up first? If you don't, it can severely damage the tubes.
But a common cause of this could be just old tubes. Like any other piece of technology, tubes get old. If you like to play your amp LOUD then they wear out a lot quicker. You have to replace tubes every now and then. Because I'm not there to check out your amp, I can't give you an exact answer but it sounds like that's the problem. This isn't always a bad thing. You can make the sound of your amp exponentially better with nicer, new tubes. Your amp has 12AX7 tubes. Very common tubes to use actually. I'm not sure what kind of music you play, I'm assuming mostly rock and blues. But here is a list of tubes and reviews on them.

This is how to replace a tube:

A note he doesn't make in the video is to dust out your amp. I use the compressed dust spray for the inside of computers.
So overall, stop turning up your amp to 11, make sure it's well ventilated and dust it out from time to time. Hope this helped.

If you hear something faint this would not be a fuse issue.

NEVER USE MAXIMUM VOLUME FOR TROUBLESHOOTING.

Turn the volume control to something medium.

The errant switch, control or condition may change and you will suddenly release the
amp's full power and possibly destroying your speakers. If a signal isn't audible at 1/2
volume it's probably not there.

Carefully examine the front panel for clues like a misplaced Mute or Tape Monitor control
or Multichannel Analog Input selected.

There is a good chance that a common control may have developed a high-resistance or
'dead' spot through idleness and is causing your symptom. Turn the POWER OFF and operate
every control throughout its range a number of times, especially rarely-used ones like
Tape Monitors and the Mute control.

Turn the volume to something reasonable and see if that helped.
