The flashing light indicates the charger is charging the battery (or attempting it) and if it never finishes charging you should try to charge a different battery, if the charger charges that one ok then the battery is bad.

SOURCE: When the DeWALT DE9118 charger

It sounds like you need a new charger I'm afraid. If you want to double check though, take the housing apart (4x security torx screws in the underside corners) and check the little glass fuse on the pcb. If either main fuse or glass one is blown you have a problem with the board and it's not worth repairing. If both fuses are ok I would suggest you might have a dry solder or broken leg on one of the pcb components. You could possibly resolder it if you can find it and it has enough contact left.

D23 on the board is blown up.I do not know what to order at the store.on the schematic I found it shows D23 with an E51A below it.Help. thanks

The prefix D would usually suggest a diode of some sort but I have no idea what E would denote.

The circuit diagram provides insufficient information and so either the component(s) must be ordered from the manufacturer as spare parts, the exact type and value of them must be discovered from a manufacturer's service sheet or component list or an experienced electronics engineer must be consulted to calculate the values from the circuit or even to make an educated guess.

Charger for dewalt 18volt drill burned out a diode need to know what to replace it with to burned out to tell ??

I had to replace that on one of mine. It is not a regular diode. P6KE51A Transient Voltage Suppression (TVS) Diode. That is the part # on the USA model. A European model may use different #. 8645a6dd-c755-4fe7-a00b-699ca51bc6af.jpg

I have power going to the cb but can not get it to come on !! looked at all the diods and wires can't seam to fing the problem I have checked and I do have power going in

Change D23. It doesn't need to be burnt to be bad. If that doesn't fix it, it could be something more serious.

Perhaps the on off knob is no good. open it and hot wire it on. if it comes on then you know its the on off.

Im a trucker so when i plug my power wire the fuse blow why

You probably plug it in backwards at some point. When you do that you blow the polarity protection diodes. They are so you do not blow the radio.

Get a N14003 diode from radio shack.

Open the radio's bottom cover where the speaker is. Watch the speaker wires.

Near the back right of the board where the power cord plugs in left of the transformer, look for D23. Its the same diode as the one you bought from radio shack. It is most likely burnt.

Remove that one and replace with a new one.

The radio should work fine now. Be careful when plugging that thing in.

Blowing fuse

Your polarity protection diode has been blown. If you tried hooking up your CB and accidentally pushed the plug in backwards. Inside the radio, there are 2 big black diodes near the transformers, D8 and D23. Replace these with the same or bigger. You can the burnt one out and the radio will work, but if you hook it up wrong again, it will fry the radio.

Cobra 29ltd classic : no rx / tx

D23 is the reverse protection diode and it shorting is the primary reason your fuse blew. As you posted, power was applied in reverse, hence other components would also fail. Pls check:
1. D22 - 9.1V Zener Diode
2. TR23 (2SC1096) 9 Volts regulator
3. D19 - 5.1 Zener Diode
4. IC4 (TA7222) - Audio Amp
5. TR14 (2SC2029B/10) - Finals
6. TR15 (2SC2028B/20) - Driver
7. Most capacitors over 220uF (like C123, C114 & C112)

Hope that this be of help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.
